Friend told me about this real life treasure hunting and its some story. NO-one been able to figure out the mystery, but intresting read if you have time.

This is a really cool place, I live very close. There was some talk of Blankenship selling the island ($7M I think)....the Oak Island Society was at the time trying to petition the province to keep it "homegrown". I can't remember what happened or whether or not the old fella still owns it. It sorta spooky when you drive up to it because anyone who goes there usually has some knowledge of it's history. There are a lot of "No Trespassing" signs...but you can view the causeway (which is basically a manmade dirt road from the mainland to the island). There was some talk of "tours" at one point too, not sure if they ever followed through on it...I think the "liability" issue was big during those talks...there's a lot of "unknown risks".
