The Wise One
March 22, 2013

After talking it over, Anna, Clara, and Martin decided to go back to the train station to see if they could find the wise one.

Liz was sitting on a bench out front smoking a cigarette. She smiled and nodded at them as they walked up.

"I'm on a break. Sarah is not working today. Is there something I can help you with?"

Anna hesitated. "OK, this is going to sound crazy, but we're looking for someone called the Wise One."

Liz snorted. "That's easy enough. That's the name the locals give to the crazy old homeless guy who lurks around here. He speaks total nonsense. I think that nickname is a bit sarcastic and mean, if you ask me."

"Have you seen him today?"

Liz took a long drag on her cigarette and blew the smoke into the air thoughtfully. "You know, now that you mention it, I haven't seen him in several days, which is kind of unusual."

Anna, Clara, and Martin looked around the train station and then decided to explore the downtown area for a bit and ask a few of the locals if they had seen the homeless man. But after a few hours, they gave up, exhausted, and decided to go to Aunt Ruthie's house.

It was there that they were in for a shocking surprise. Aunt Ruthie was gone and her house was shut up tight. Even more disturbing, the lawn was littered with newspapers that hadn't been picked up.

They looked at each other helplessly. "Everything has gone wrong!" Anna cried.

Just then Clara noticed the corner of a slip of paper peeking out from under the screen door. Printed on it was a message:

Come inside if you can find the key.

Quote:
Dearest Keepers,

Your next challenge is really a "pre" challenge, or a transition challenge if you will. It's quite straightforward.

Write to us about a fear or a goal.

For a fear, tell us about one of your greatest fears and how you are working to overcome that fear. Or, tell us about a time that you faced down and conquered one of your fears.

You also have the choice of telling us about one of your goals and how you are working to achieve that goal.

You must choose one or the other, fear or goal. You may not choose both.

In turn, we will draw a card at rrandom and provide a reading of that card as itt pertains to your fear or goal.

You will soon come to understand how this relates to the next challenge.

Sincerely,

Sivvy, Ginny, Annes, Melia, & Norma

I went with goal - probably ended up giving the poor pm's a life story! ( sorry in advance Pm's!)

Interesting. That email also has two typos, 'rrandom' and 'itt'. RT. Just like the last blog post. Retweet? Smile

I don't know which I'm gonna write about yet.

I wrote about a goal.

Did anyone else get the email twice? I'm wondering if it's a hint about doubles?

Hey all,

I am on vacation, in Phoenix of all places. I couldn't mention it earlier because it was a surprise trip Smile in any case, if the mistakes are really a key it must be what we need to get into the house? (Although I really want to got to the back of the house and open the window. Then look for the grue)

Can someone who is following the cardkeepers retweet that quote about the key, just in case?

Hi Sarah. Retweeted it earlier as a test & was just directed to the recent email. Lotsa acronyms for RT & ML that I asked/guessed about in my "fear" email. TGIF all.

Just got the same email as posted above. In my 'fear' email I'd asked if RT stood for the bible abbrev. of the book of Ruth and ML for Malachi.

Dictionary says: "Tora also spelled Torah, is defined as the first five books of the Bible". Am still ignorant about their connex. Maybe a nbr. substitution? Dunno

TORA?

Well, I'm no more enlightened!

The quote doesn't seem to be a quote, either.

If Torah, could be related to Freemasonry which was linked to in J.E. blog.

When looking into the history of Tarot, you will see that the word itself (supposedly) is derived from the word Torah.... if I am not mistaken, I believe back in the day the Tarot was created as a way to tell the religious stories that were being suppressed by the newer rising Christian faiths. A lot of "Pagan" beliefs and practices were forced underground, but then later adopted by Christian leaders. Tarot, Torah and the Bible all share the same stories and the same symbolism.

ETA: Freemasonry and other such 'societies with secrets' are mystery schools that teach these stories and symbolism, and the occult power that is supposedly gained with such knowledge. (merely the way I see it after years of research)
