Just had another idea - if the artifact is forerunner, and the Covies do revere Covie technology, the might not glass Earth right away and try to find the artifact first.

Sooo... since you seem to see all and know all, what do you expect to see from the transmission on the 4th?

I don't see and know all - I simply guess. I'd have to say that a good portion of my guesses have turned out to be right. I was off with the 24th thing, for example.

As to your question, however... I'm guessing the following things concerning the 4th transmission:

1) It is unlikely it is ILB specific. Given this and things of that nature I've seen elsewere, I believe that the 4th is not an ILB-specific event. Since the event is not ILB specific, there would be little point to put ILB-specific 'transmissions' in events. Bungie knows people want to play Halo 2, and thats why they are comming.

2) I'd call this the Anti-1. The 'transmission' may in fact be ILB specific, but will make sense to gamers who had not played the game yet.

3) Any transmission will not solve all the answers. If anything, it will add more.

In a tiny nutshell, thats what I my gut says - A 'transmission' that doesnt explain everything an ILB player will want to explain, and may mean more to someone interested in Halo 2 itself more than an ILB fan.

i highly doubt that's going to be the case... yes, it might pertain to someone who has only played the first game, but i think because it's the seeker who is going to be transmitting, it's going to have a large amount to do with our ingame universae and not so much to do with the outside universe...

just because mlg is holding something on the fourth (which will more than likely be the exact thing that many of us are attending) doesn't have anything to do with the transmission we're going to recieve on the fourth...dana also mentions that the seeker will be transmitting on the 4th, so i think it will still be in game...

bungie doesn't leave loose ends, they just make you wait and look harder for the truth...

that's what they've done in two other places (SigOct and Reach) ... they glass everywhere but where they know their artifact to be...

Maybe sending the signal and then shutting of the artifact means that the covies know that there is an artifact on earth but since it is off they wont be able to locate it, and be forced to find it on foot rather than glass the planet. giving us a fighting chance. Chance to fight for the planet brought to you by Team Jersey.

I wish I knew how to type out a "stifled laugh" noise over the internet.

Couple of things you should know first:

You must be 18 or older to enter
We will be at the Times Square ESPN Zone on November 4th, 2004
There will be 50 random winners
Transportation must be provided by you (you have to get yourself to Times Square)
Note, this is on a Thursday, so if you can't make it that day because its in the middle of the week, please do not apply That just about sums it up. Read below and find out how to enter

These are not the same event... ILB related are at Theaters. And the Cold Pizza event is at ESPN Zone.

17 years and older vs. 18 years and older.

Sounds like we will be watching some type of movie. or maybe a new Trailer for Halo 2, but not playing it.....

I would consider this extremely bad form on the part of the PMs. ILB should be a self-contained story. As it currently stands I'm not convinced any good at all came from the successful Chawla base raid. Sure, it was exciting, but what did it accomplish. Did all of the enhottening and puzzle solving serve SOLELY to alert the Covenant in 25xx to earth's location?

I want more than just "well it stopped a mystery timer.. and nobody likes a mystery timer, right? Oh look, Standish getting his comeuppance!"<PM runs away>

Also I want Sophia and Kamal smootching.

That is all.

WELL whether you like it or not, this ARG has been a Halo 2 marketing tool from the start. Anyone who played the game really should've known that and also known that they were going to have to play Halo 2 in order to complete the story.

So that's what the seeker meant by:

behold the truth
3 2 1

Triangles, lines, dots.
3 points, 2 points, 1 point.
3, 2, 1, behold.

But Jersey didn't input triangles, lines, dots. He put in dots, lines, triangles: 1, 2, 3. I wonder what would have happened if he did it the other way around, since 1,2,3 seemed to do what they assumed 3, 2, 1 would do.

Regardless of these minor differences, I think its clear that ILB is merely one aspect of the "Play Halo 2 before its released without leaking it" UberProgram.

Nova, someone else said this before I think, but the seeker might just have been saying to reverse the order. It was originally triangles, lines, then dots. 1, 2, 3. Then the seeker said 3, 2, 1. Dots, lines, then triangles. But I do like the points thing, that sounds pretty slick.

That's the point, though - 3, 2, 1 is triangles, lines, dots, not dots, lines, triangles. I think, perhaps, the seeker was saying put the same values in again and it'll turn off - I think, maybe, the characters in the wavs got it wrong, and that's why the Covenant are now coming to put the smack down on Earth.
