Any chance you can give us a run-down of that story? And perhaps correct my assumptions in the Google Doc, because I'm really confused Smile

Heh, I figured this was going to come up.

Yeah, I played in Tale of Fray. But if it's all right with you, I'm going to avoid saying anything too detailed about that story right now, mainly because I've spoken with the PM and confirmed that this is a reboot (not a continuation). You don't need to know anything about Tale of Fray to play in Karen is Missing, and things I say may be spoilers for the story. While I have not been asked to keep quiet, out of respect for the PM wanting to tell their story, I'm not gonna say anything TOO detailed, but here's a basic idea of what happened:

Tale of Fray was basically a story about a group of kids who escaped from the Pattern Medical Facility and ended up getting caught in what can only be described as a war between Pattern Medical and a third party I won't elaborate on, where the kids were objects to be coveted and reviled by both sides.

And that's all I'll say about this for now. I don't know how closely Karen is Missing is going to follow Tale of Fray (There's a lot of differences already: The "Joseph B" character is totally new, and although I have suspicions about who "Mr. Felt" is, he/she/they never appeared in Tale of Fray, at least not in that persona. I'd like to ask that people who want to play Karen is Missing, to avoid spoiling the story for themselves and also because it might not even be relevant, avoid reading the Tale of Fray sites. Obviously I can't stop you from reading them, and it's not even that huge a deal if you do. I'm just saying: Possible Spoiler Warning.

Although I will say this: In the original Tale of Fray: Cat was a boy, and Karen was a girl.

EDIT: PLEEEAAASE don't feel like the information that I know about this is some sort of unfair advantage or that I'm withholding it to be mean. If it's really important I promise I'll tell you guys everything. And the stuff I know could be wrong too! At this point I'm just another player trying to figure this out with you guys.

Oh! And to answer people's question earlier about why I assumed Taylor was another kid and not Dark0's Rabbit: I assumed this mainly because of Dark0's Tumblr: He talks about "Missing" Taylor, as well as saying that Taylor had issues with this Lockwood. While we don't know too much about these kids yet, and I could easily be wrong, it seems like Taylor is a separate person.

Y'know, when we contact the folks involved--Felt, Nicole, Dark0--we gotta remember they aren't just going to roll over with answers. Lol Dark0's post last night made me laugh, "where are you people coming from!?" I think it might have helped if Nicole hadn't been assaulted with emails from a bunch of strangers. I'd be surprised if she addressed us all personally.

I think you may be right about this. Nicole seems to be pretty responsive to my emails, so let me know if there's anything you want me to ask her.

As for Dark0, I think we need to find out who Lockwood is. This may be a question for Taylor, though. Do we think Dark0 can put us in contact with her?

Amalie, you have a pretty good start with Nicole, which is awesome. I think Nicole is probably our best hope for getting info right now: Karen seemed to want to talk to her and probably isn't going to give up just yet. My suggestion: try talking to Nicole about some mundane stuff. Try and befriend her. It will likely calm her down while making you a bit more trustworthy in her eyes. We might want to do that with Darko too. Even if we find a way to speak to Taylor remember that Taylor has no more reason to help us than Darko does. But if we can somehow earn Darko's trust, he may be able to help us win over Taylor too.

I wonder who Pat is? Another person who wasn't in Tale of Fray.

The "alley cats and therapists" makes me think even more that Lockwood is a doctor with the Pattern.

Edit: and that we should be trying to find him.

Yes, I asked her. She said "Erm. Lockwood...I know the name but not sure where from. I think a friend of Karen's. Maybe a teacher? Something like that- she only mentioned him once or twice and it was about four or five years ago, remember."
