For some reason I feel jay thought he saw a dead eyeless Alex staring at him. Perhaps his hallucinations are caused by guilt over Alex's possible death / murder?

Also I'm looking forward to a TTA mocking Jay for hiding from "nothing"

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but there's a bit more audio distortion at 8:36 while Jay and Tim are inspecting the tapes, when Jay moves one of the "still-intact" tapes into frame.

Here's what I'm seeing from this:

The strain is getting to Jay. He quite distinctly saw something that, as far as we can see, wasn't there. In that light, the dream he mentioned on twitter might not have been a messed up memory of something that happened(which we might have initially thought)--it could be that the disturbing dream came entirely from his own mind. Nightmares aren't evidence of insanity, but it's something.

As for the tapes, for a long time I've felt that Alex held back most of the original MH tapes. After that entry on the tape that Jay stole from Alex that shows him actively planning and participating in slenderficing his friends, I came to this conclusion: Alex, as a director, didn't give Jay a bag of random tapes. He gave Jay a carefully crafted narrative that portrayed him(Alex) as a helpless victim of Slendy. I wouldn't be surprised if the "Everyone is gone" monologue was not only filmed solely for this purpose, but filmed WELL AFTER Marble Hornets was done filming(i.e. right before giving Jay the tapes).

So the notion that Alex would burn tapes doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is the sheer QUANTITY of them, combined with the fact that Alex deliberately DIDN'T burn one of the most incriminating tapes he had. So there's a decent chance that these tapes are of something else--maybe something even ALEX wanted to forget(search for Amy, maybe?)

Here's my thoughts on Jay and Tim's conversation prior to going to the old locations:

Tim has a water bottle and offers Jay water as well, who denies it. -And is that a massive bottle of pills in your pocket, Tim, or are you just glad to see me?

Also, a few people have mentioned that Tim and Jay are getting more buddy-buddy. They certainly seem to be getting along better. However, to me, Tim just seems like he's better putting up with Jay's little snipes. Tim has a very friendly tone this whole entry, and just about everything Jay says has a biting, sarcastic tone to it (even if the words themselves are friendly). He still seems to lack a fundamental trust in Tim, hence him questioning Tim taking those pills. This may just be the way I'm hearing it, or differences in acting, but I feel that Tim's friendliness is a definite contrast to Jay's aloofness in this entry.
