Anything happening in Tokyo?

Hello from New Zealand,

My wife and I will be in Tokyo from 10 April to 22 April 2013 and I was wondering if anyone knows of anything tourist-friendly cool happening in the Tokyo transmedia space during this time, or maybe just wants to have a meetup?

We went to Sleep No More in New York last year and loved it.

I hear that Japan is the birthplace of the Escape the Room event which sounds cool, but I think we might be ruled from doing this in Japan due to not speaking the language.

Michael

There will be a Real Escape Game in Tokyo going on during your visit (see http://realdgame.jp/archives/3875), but the language barrier would likely make it a challenge, yes.

There was a fairly active chapter of IGDA's ARG special interest group in Japan...I'd suggest looking into some of the projects they discuss. http://arg.igda.jp/

Thank you for your suggestions. We're in Tokyo now and finding the language barrier challenging enough such that ordering food feels like a victory in itself! Smile

We might just have to stick to visiting museums and whatnot.

Speaking of which, we did get to briefly see an interesting performance at Tokyo National Museum that involved black clad figures wandering around the surrounding park and whispering things in people's ears through long black tubes. Very curious.

I wondered what it was all about but was too scared to let them whisper in my ear in case they could somehow look into the depths of my should or something. Smile
