 		What I never understood about the months Jay lost: why was he still recording but no longer uploading?

That's exactly what I thought-- unless the Operator somehow 'programmed' him not to do that until the days following the events of 52...

I'm still not totally sure the Operator attacked Jay in 52, it looked to me like Jay, in a fit of rage, thought "fuck it" and charged the Tall Man, thinking maybe he could fight him as long as he kept the camera on him or that perhaps the Operator was vulnerable to physical attacks which as far was we know-- he might be (unfortunately he's very quick, so we may never know).


It seemed to me like TO "sucked" Jay towards him.


Jay definitely charges at the operator. He then gets tossed around the room

Exactly, it was a mix of the two things-- a charge by Jay, then an interception by the Operator who easily countered it.

 		Ok, seriously. Regarding the "Jay put the tapes there" theory.

Yes. It is possible, in the sense that we haven't yet seen someone who is not Jay put them there. However, when we theorize on this board, we have agreed that we will base our theories on something we have seen or heard within the videos and not blind speculation based on what we think could have happened. That is, theories must be based on something that we can point to and say "this is why," rather than using lack of evidence to the contrary.

Jay and Tim themselves think that Alex put them there. They say as much in the video. Until we are given evidence that this is untrue, that is what we have to go on.

Edit: I made this post because I've seen this theory mentioned a few times previously.

I guess it was implied in entry 36 that he stopped updating youtube and twitter because Alex told him to "lay low". I personally think that's sort of a flimsy explanation, but whatever.

 		The most plausible reason I find for why he didn't upload anything is because he was not in a hotel room. He was sleeping in his car most of the time. He may have also not had enough signal to be able to do more than make phone calls. Rosswood is a pretty rural area. Data network might not always be available.

 		No it is not possible sense, because the whole point of the hole is that it was the "slendy hole" that had distortion back in season 1...

I'd say it's pretty solid. Alex meets up with Jay, explains the "Amy is missing" situation, tells Jay not to upload any videos while they work together. Jay may not have liked this idea, but with Alex being the only person who could give Jay any answers, he would no doubt comply with that request.

 		Most of their conversation is covered up by distortion, and it's unclear if Alex knew about the MH channel yet at that point. So we don't actually know if Alex specifically told him not to put anything on the internet or if Jay did it on his own for the sake of "laying low" If Alex really did tell Jay not to that'd be a good explanation, but we don't actually know for sure.

I think we can safely assume he did know, seeing as how he bothered to send Jay that tape in entry 26 in the first place, the footage on which would mean nothing to Jay without having watched Alex's previous tapes, and also knew that Jay was staying at hotels instead of his house.
