Emerson has posted our favorite paintings on her Moonlight into Noon blog . Plus, there are 2 PW protected posts in her WP Notebook . Some fascinating stuff there.
PW solve "You Are" (Hint: those paintings)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
PW is 'late'. It's an acrostic of the first letters of the top 4 paintings (L,A,T,E)
PW solve "David's Journal: Entry #3" (Hint: check the last line of the previous WP entry)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
PW is 'tea' and that's also part of the title of the 5th painting

We provided the password, interesting. Well spotted Amandel.

Oooh, I love Faeries, and yes, they can be stinkers. However, I think it's interesting that people always associate them with little things. There are tall faeries too, very ethereal and beautiful, but dangerous.
Sorry for my cluelessnes earlier. You are right that I speak of myths and legends. I think I prefer the old ones, althought new twists on them are always interesting...
p.s. It's late and I can't sleep, so I apologize for being a bit rambly. Your presence in my inbox is alway welcome. Thank you again for writing. I promise to write more when I am more coherent.
Anybody ever watch 'Perception'

Perhaps it's an oversight, but those two PW-protected posts allow for comments, which the other ones have previously not allowed.
I wonder what Emerson may [possibly] suffer from.
She seems to be paranoid ("Emerson thinks she is being haunted" + seeing the children following her), focused on death ("She is so morbid; she sees the darkness in everything"), and easily led by others ("I asked her directly about taking control of her own life. Not letting Mom or anyone else make decisions"). She also seems to suffer from insomnia and hears piano music.

I'm new to this, but this seems pretty interesting. I guess I'll stay on the sidelines for now

Yay my painting submission was included on the blog and yay my painting was a clue to a password, too~~. This is the first time this has happened to me! *fans self* ~~
I don't have anything particularly useful to add to the discussion, just my wild jubilation.
That said, does Emerson actually have a "mental illness" or is it simply a matter of David's inaccurate perceptions? Emerson doesn't appear to be arguing against his assessments, either. Maybe she just hasn't had the chance to do so yet. Hmm. *scratches head*

Well, I think even David is unsure of this. I think (at least right now with what we know) it seems as though Emerson has a mental illness because David's descriptions of her alongside Emerson's own statements about being followed by children and hearing music make it certainly seem as though she is suffering from some sort of delusion. But we all know that things are often more than they seem
I think what we really need to do is start learning more about the "Pretenders" and Emerson's friends (Lucy, Mina, Xan) and the "Old Masters." Finding out about this will help to give us more insight into Emerson herself, I think.
And welcome, Amelia and Kykaios!

Thanks! Yeah that was my line of thought too, i emailed and asked about davids perceptions on her, and the fact he called her delusional... im trying to promt her to tell me whether thats true or not - i shall update the thread IF i get any reply
EDIT: okay so i got a reply from em:

Hi Amelia!
Thanks for writing.
As for the idea that I am delusional, well, here is the definition of a delusion:
"a belief held with strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary"
Do I hold my beliefs with strong conviction? Not exactly. I mean, I'm pretty sure what I know is true, but I have my doubts, as would anyone.
Is there superior evidence to the contrary?
The only "superior evidence to the contrary" is that everyone has their heads up their asses.
People aren't interested in hearing about things that may happen outside of the boundaries of what they define as normal.
So, do I sound sane? Of course I do, because I am. Therefore, I'm in something of a pickle.
One option is to STFU. But that's not an option just yet. Soon you'll understand why.
Thanks again for writing.
-Em.

Thanks bluesylvia! I connected with her on Twitter and sent her an email giving my condolences and asked her about the gift for her David mentions in one of her first posts.

Amelić -Welcome and Gib Acht!
So glad you both have been in contact with Emerson, I kinda blow at the interpersonal stuff.
Good work (again ) on the passwords Amandel!
Just for yuks, try to guess what my one shot (only had time for the one) at the first password was:

I heard back from Emerson. My email to her was a general hello, giving my condolences and asking her about a gift he referenced for her from his journals.

Hi boar_madre!
Thanks for writing! It's nice to have "pen pals" ha ha!
Yeah, when I read about the gift I wondered the same thing. We've looked everywhere but haven't found a thing. I have no idea what he could have meant.
However, I haven't finished going through all of his journals and notebooks, so maybe something will turn up.
Thanks again for writing!

THX Booba! The real PW list is on the trailhead post now. Agree with Spoon that 'tho Em seems symptomatic of a "high-functioning" schizophrenic it's a mystery still

And in reply to my urging Emerson to confide in Xan she wrote:
I think you're right about Xan. We're having lunch again at the end of the week. I'll bring up some of my thoughts and concerns and see what he thinks. I'll let you know how it goes. I can't thank you enough for your emails! So nice to connect with people.
