Another thought: could Alex have also burned a lot of the tapes concerning Sarah?

Nah, Serum did that.

Ouch.

I think we need to revisit the tentative timeline we have for the Marble Hornets shooting. I'm not sure where to put this, because it could easily go after any of them after he starts constantly filming himself (#3) and before Tim and Alex go to the abandoned hospital (#56). This Entry is also definitely after #4.

Anyone feel like going through the list we have and putting forth OPINIONS in a new thread? Razz

For now, I'm going to stick this between 4 and 13, but I'm starting to think what we have right now is askew.

I'd put it between #4 and #13. But it still seems very tentative at best.

Maybe it goes #12, #4, #13, #70, #7 (with other entries in between.) The progression would then go as: (12) "Hey, there's a guy on set.", (4) "This guy can move fast...", (13) "Holy crap he has no face!", (70) "I've got to confront him.", (7) "No no no no. Let's get the hell out of here the second we see this thing!"

@Geneaux486: I disagree that it would be before 3. Why else would he be filming himself driving? If it was just to capture the guy on film, he would have just started filming when he got to the park.

Could easily say he was filming the entire drive on the off chance that he spotted the guy before he got there. He was filming himself driving in entry 2 as well, and at that point the Operator was nothing more than a guy standing under a street light to him.

I would like to think this happens directly between #2 and #4.

Doubt it came before entry 4. The way he stopped at the swing and whirled around was similar enough to the motions in entry 4 that it seemed deliberate, like he was trying to recreate the circumstances in which he first sighted the thing.

Yeah. but he was also narrating in entry two, as if he was taping it out of sheer curiosity. It seems as though it was shortly after that that the taping himself habit was formed. I think this is after entry four, since as I said before, there was familiarity. He was recreating the conditions from their first meeting, as if he was trying to lure him out.

Well yeah, this time he was angry and confrontation as opposed to curious like he was before, but I don't see why that would have any bearing on whether or not he'd film the drive.

I still for the life of me can't figure out why anyone would do what Alex did in Entry #2.

I'm guessing that Alex thought he was going insane seeing this shit. He didn't want Amy to worry about anything. I also believe this puts somethings into a new perspective. Alex may honestly have been the innocent party at the start. In fact I'll go as far as to say the others as he would put were infact psychotic from the start and in some cases can't remember it. Totheark is one of the members who hasn't completely forgotten it, and started responding when he saw the entries taking off. Jay may find on these tapes that he was infact one of the psychos and Alex never quite knew for sure. It's a long shot, but it does raise the what if Alex was and still is the more "pure" of them?

Maybe the Operator's influence compells people to seek it out. Could explain why Jay took all the unecesarry risks he has since he got involved.

I'm still a member of the "Alex is a victim" camp, which seems to be becoming increasingly smaller.

I think Alex expected it to be there much like why Jay expects it to be at Rosswood Park. It tends to show up in a few specific places. If it isn't showing up on Alex's doorstep yet, this might explain why it doesn't just pop right into Jay's house. It actually needs to find you, & follow you back, somehow. Which could explain why Alex claims that Jay leads it right to him, & why he thinks that moving will solve his problems.

Which doesn't make a lick of sense, since we know the Operator messes with the mind, and Alex was pretty clearly a normal guy before he started having those problems.

I mean in regards to both the earliest entries and the latest entries. Sorry that I was vague.

For reasons I can't understand. There is very little evidence that Alex has always been outright malevolent, & with every entry, that becomes increasingly less likely.

Makes me wonder if Alex's talk about finishing Marble Hornets and transferring up to Amy's school actually makes this a later entry. And if finishing Marble Hornets if more like finishing off the cast. mwahaha?

I meant that it doesn't make sense that the camp is getting smaller, since we've got plenty of evidence to suggest that Alex is as much a victim as anyone else who's had their mind messed with by TO.

In entry #2 Alex says something along the lines of "I still have a little time on this tape..." and explains that the sighting of the "tall man" set off his dog. There's an old saying: "Familiarity breeds contempt". We notice that as the entries progress (in chronological order), there is a growing anger and animosity from Alex toward the Operator. In Entry 2, he seems nervous... but hardly angry, and because of the lack of sound in Entry 4, we are unable to determine the emotional tone of the entry.

I'm going to hold down the idea that Alex seems to be developing a growing concern for the Operator at the beginning of the series... this entry depicts genuine fear, anger and concern. Entry two, and the lack of familiarity in Entry 4 do not suggest that to me in the least. That's why I think this entry comes after Entry 4. In fact, I'd agree heavily with the order that aidansean suggested.
