I don't so much have rage at Entry #70, as much as I have disappointment. I really thought that there would be an answer or two hidden on a tape someone tried so hard to dispose of. I feel a huge sense of being let down, and I really didn't want to feel this way. I wanted to be excited about some new info these tapes provide. But there is nothing really new to me being revealed here, and seeing the Operator in the same place he was before didn't do anything for me. So, there are my thoughts about the new entry, since there is nothing to really discuss about it for me.

Jesus Christ, will everyone stop bawling about Pravado? The posts bitching about him outnumber his actual rant posts, & arguably out-whine him. Seriously, the only way he can "ruin it for you" is if you don't have enough security to handle the fact that people don't like what you do, & ignore them.

In no way am I saying that he should be raging in the Entry threads. But that is the exact opposite of a solution.

Funny, I came to this thread to bring up the same thing Lithp.

Pravado is entitled to his opinion, and he's entitled to how he wants to present his opinion too.

Good God. Reading everyone arguing about how to argue reminds me of another part of Internet history-- a time during the 'wild west' days of the internet when things got waaaay out of hand...

I'm talking of course about the Poke'shipping wars. Ship-to-ship combat that resulted in actual treaties between forum cliques. You guys don't really want to wind up making pretend treaties, do you?

The reason people really dislike pravado isn't because of his opinion.
It's because of the way he gives his opinion.
He could be calm and reasonable about it.
Or... he could be a complete dick about it.

I'm more bothered by the fact he believes that every entry should take as long to shoot as a single take with everything going completely right. Keeping in mind this was not only the fastest entry release in ages but they also got back an actor they hadn't used for 3 years. Also calling anyone who likes an entry he doesn't a "fanboy".

pravado reminds me, somewhat, of a guy on a podcast I am sometimes on. The podcast is called Cultdom Collective, and on that podcast we review various cult shows (mainly Doctor Who). There's a guy on that podcast that we only know as Darth Skeptical. He's generally the most critical of our lot, to the point where he either tears Doctor Who episodes apart or just generally dissects them in terms of story, production crew, music score, and so on. When he dislikes something, he can be quite critical, kind of like pravado.

And Yes, Pravado is opinionated and at times pretty douchey. But a lot of his observations also carry weight. I really wish the admin would do something about his attitude, though. Blatantly saying he doesn't care about the admins' desire to keep OOG commentary out of game threads, etc by spewing his hate of OOG conditions and then reiterating himself when people don't agree with him.

I don't agree with a lot of what he says. But him bashing the series is no worse than the fucknuggets who white knight the thing either (kind of ironic, that idea coming from a paladin, no?).

I also despise that people can't just ignore him and continue discussing what they're discussing, or quote him into a different thread to have that discussion with him (as I have done more than once with others on off topic discussions).
