I think our guesses have to be reframed within a more traditional story.

From the top:
1. When Alex was filming Marble Hornets, somehow, the Operator appeared.
2. Ever since then we don't know when or how the Operator was unleashed.

The only way for us to know is through Alex, who seemed to have "First contact" with the operator. An entry like this is valuable because it shows us a slow move backwards in time to the point where the Operator first appeared.

Everything will slowly fall into place under the biggest question being answered.

Very silly thought time: Alex was really just trying to find an excuse to move schools. In this entry he explicitly states that he wants to be at a better school and be closer to Amy, and he seems he can't wait to be finished with the filming. That's good enough reason to want to move, right? His movie project wasn't working and the conditions on set really were unworkable, so to justify abandoning the project and moving school he creates a fake operator, pretends it's stalking him, tries to kill everyone off except Jay and Amy, then runs off to Rosswood. The only person left in CollegeTown is Jay and he thinks Alex left for stalky reasons, and not because he was bored with school. Then it gets out of hand and in a moment of slight overreaction Alex ends up beating a man to death with a rock. Anyway, not at all serious, but the thought made me laugh a little. Smile

One thing I really liked is how they made this video look deliberately lower quality. I was always bugged at how the 2006 videos began with a cheaper camera that always played with the smaller frame on youtube, but lately they've been shot on the same HD camera and making them look the same as the present day videos.

I read somewhere, that Jay was using the same camera, just a new uploading technique so the videos were in better quality.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
But I'm pretty sure that he is actually using a new camera just that's the in game reason
It was actually Troy saying they were using the same camera in Season 1 and season 2, but that Youtube added HD compatibility somewhere in that timeframe. As for season 3, maybe they bought a new camera, who knows?

Yes, but we're not getting any answers. That's the problem.

I don't see the face at 4:43, but it sure does look like he's carrying a briefcase at 4:42. Maybe he's there to discuss financing Alex's movie... Laughing

Read earlier posts in the thread. It's a lens flare from the lamppost over TO's left shoulder.

But more seriously, I'm going back and forth on where to place #70 in the timeline. I can see how it would go after #4, but I also think it's possible that could be reversed -- if Alex went back to the playground in #4, trying to catch TO again, and TO, rather than teleporting out, messed with the playground equipment and moved just fast enough to be captured on film, then vanished, just to taunt Alex.

I get the feeling that TO was definitely playing around in those night appearances -- in #1, there is a split second at 0:33 where it looks like TO was already 'looking' toward the window Alex films from, waiting, then quickly turns his 'face' away before turning back for the jump scare. (I don't know if this has been discussed before -- there's no way I'm going to be able to read 15 pages of threads.) The sort of drifting by the windows TO does in #6 seems to have an element of cat-and-mouse to it for me.

Well, to be fair, we have gotten SOME answers this season. We know that Tim isn't masky by choice and that it's the result of some sort of mental problems he has that were likely caused or at least accencuated by Oppy. We also found out why the hole in entry 21 caused so much static.

The problem is, like I said in the entry quality thread, that this season isn't very condensed. It seems like for the amount of entries we've had there hasn't been as much plot development or new information as there could have been. And some entries this season don't stand on their own very well. Entry 55 probably could have been combined with entry 56. Entry 63 probably could have been combined with 62 or 64.

But then again, if they did that people might complain that the entries are too long. Razz

I have nothing else to say about this entry that hasn't already being addressed here. So far, Amy seems to be the reason why the tapes were burned, but I'll wait for the rest of the burnt tapes (or rather, their excerpts) to be posted before reaching a conclusion.

I ran the entry on a spectrograph but nothing turned up. I thought that noise sounded similar to TTA's audio hidden messages, but I guess it was just static-generated noise.

As for OOG posts, nobody's mad at Magyk or onetruepurple for writing little more than "I liked this entry," so it seems unreasonable to be mad at pravado for writing "I hated this entry."

For the record, I don't like those posts either, but they're also not inflammatory as pravado's posts have been. I won't go into details, but in the past, pravado's posting style required moderator and administrator intervention.

Posts such as "I liked this" or "hey this is a new entry," while useless to discussion (perhaps even more so than pravado's bravado), are technically not against any rule here and there is little I can do about them other than saying, "hey, don't post that stuff if you have nothing else to add because it just clutters up threads."

Though if you wanted to nitpick, saying that you liked the OOG production value of an entry would be off-topic to the site in general, as unFiction is dedicated to the discussion and solving of ARGs, which assumes an IG perspective. I generally try to remind people to keep OOG topics out of Entry or theory discussion threads.

How about Pravado just Spoilers his posts? And everyone responding to Pravado Spoiler theirs? That way, those who want Pravado's input can have it, while those who don't aren't going to read it.

This would, in my opinion as moderator, be tantamount to censoring or restricting pravado's speech on this forum. I will not do that, unless what he is saying is against the TOU of this website. He and his responders are welcome to do it if they choose, but cannot enforce it.

It's amazing to see that people are still talking about Pravado and what he posted.

I think that he has trolled you all. Laughing

I think 70 takes place after (probably shortly after) 4, based on how Alex's camera lingers on the swing set in 70, almost like he's expecting the swings to do something (i.e., move on their own like in 4).
