The State of the Board: The Blogs And now we turn to the blogs.
We have approximately 136 Open Blog Trailheads. I define this as a blog that still exists on the web, ongoing or not, where the material accessible.
We have approximately 39 Dead Blogs. I define this as a blog where the page has been deleted and/or made private.
We have approximately 17 Ongoing Blogs. I define this as a series that has made a new post on their blog within the past 6 months. Following is a list of trailheads for those series:
Arlene Harrow
CandleCoveIncident
Evelyn Says Farewell
Fermented Friends
Formaldehyde and other friends
Gray Pilgrim
He Is In The Rain
Rage dump
Romance Buff
Sethlapod 555
Somber Dim Lights
Something to leave behind
Tale of Tales
The Mythos Project
The Nippled Avenger
They Have To
To My Eldest Son

I stuck that in with the Vlogs because it looked like there was an attached video channel?
(I knew there'd be mistakes in my lists, this was a fairly large project and no one double checked me...)

I find it so sad that there are only 16 ongoing blogs... I still remember the time when everyone was saying "NO MORE BLOGS." It seems like the situation is reversed, now...
Also, thanks for creating this. It makes navigation insanely easier.

The "No More Blogs" was just an out of proportion joke that ended up hurting people's feelings. Nothing to take seriously anymore.

Sigh. People took that seriously. I can almost promise that the lack of active (even thought there is a lot) series is not a result of that.

I was there during the exact genesis of "no more blogs", and it had less to do with blogs and more to do with the giant influx of series in general /at that time/. It was like a perfectly timed joke that got taken way out of control.

Ok, that makes sense.
It still doesn't address the fact that there is an underwhelmingly small number of blogs. What happened to them all?

They all ended or got abandoned. A lot of people gave up on their works because of the whole "No More Blogs" deal and a lot more left the slenderverse because it was such a clusterfuck.

People started doing tons of crossovers instead of good self-contained stories to the point of continuity lockout and these crossovers introduced a lot of cruddy elements that spread and these crossover blogs with cruddy elements were the easier ones to find so a lot of people kinda stopped caring.
tl;dr, the blogs broke off into a mediocre 'verse instead of good stand-alone stories so they became an RP too complex for anyone to want to follow.

Ok, that makes sense. It also makes me feel a little better for not bothering to follow the tons of cross-overs in the old blogs.
