The letters are over a full moon.

Probably encoded (not a simple word search).
Maybe "moon" or "full moon" is the key word?

It looks encoded to me.

I went through the thing, arranging letters via word search and found a few keywords, but nothing that seemed to be terribly relevant.

However, it is 10 in the morning...

OK, is it just me, or have the letters on this one changed?

R B S O T M N M
A R A S T H A T
J D E N K P E U

interesting. if you rotate the new square 90 degrees counterclockwise, you get virtually the same letter pattern EXCEPT for the outside ring:

Code:

I N E M T U I N
R X O N A E R L
F D S M H P W I
E E T T T K D E
O O K O S N A R
E R P S A E O A
O S E B R D N C
U X D R A J L A

edited to fix typo. whoopsie. Embarassed

Actually, you get exactly the same letter pattern. You typoed the F on the fourth line. It should be an E.

Spec: The puzzle shifted so quickly, because it shifted on the first of the new month.

Trivia resource:
Here are the traditional names given to each month's full moon from the "Farmer's Almanac":
January - Wolf Moon
February - Snow Moon
March - Worm Moon
April - Pink Moon
May - Flower Moon
June - Strawberry Moon
July - Buck Moon
August - Sturgeon Moon
September - Harvest Moon
October - Hunter's Moon
November - Beaver Moon
December - Cold Moon

I suck at decoding things like this, but if the full moon has to do with any decoding, perhaps knowing which "moon" we are in will help.

Awesome. That definitely changed. Wow, the people that haven't been in since day one just lost an important bit there.

I should hope we don't have to wait a whole year for the puzzle to reveal itself, though!

maybe it doesnt have anything to do with a moon. maybe it has to do with a circle, or space.

It changed again. Already. Also, you can kind of see slight changes by watching the center four and those around them.

From day 1:
Code:
T T
O S

day 2: Center 4 moved in a clockwise motion.
Code:
O T
S T

day 3: Center 4 swapped out the top and bottom lines.
Code:
S T
O T

edited to avoid repeat information and to follow the route of discovery

Perrault:

Looks like your Oct 31 text face is missing top
row.

See "bill" first posting in this thread.
