Pretty sure I've seen that before. And I wouldn't be surprised if Troy could pull down those kinds of numbers. Entry 70 has 89,000 views, if each one donated $5, he'd raise $445,000. And I also don't see that as in any way indicative of the quality of the series. Just, overall, not impressed by that.

No, I didn't really expect Troy to care about the poll. Don't think he'd particularly care about you guys fucking raiding it Anonymous-style, either. Most of that was the blogger's fault for designing the poll wrong. If s/he got all pissed, he'd probably apologize, but say that it really had nothing to do with him, or most of his fans.

89k views is not 89k indiviuals. I'm sure a lot of the hardcore fans have rewatched that video a lot of times. Frankly $400k in voluntary donations IS pretty amazing and I don't think Trosephim could pull those numbers, even though I suppose it's MH blaspheme to say so. Razz

Are you familiar with the concept of "estimating"?

This is why I went with Entry 70. It has not been up as long, & I doubt that most Marble Hornets fans are going to rewatch it so soon. There may even be fans who have yet to watch it, I don't know.

Also, individuals can donate more than once. And they sure can pledge more than $5.

I don't know why you cling to the belief that this figure is out of Trosephim's reach, that is an extremely conservative estimate, & they easily passed the mark.

Second place by a wide margin is still pretty impressive, and those numbers mean that MH will doubtless be featured in the site's weekly webseries article thingy, and soon (although LBD will be first).
And I've already seen at least one person in the comments say that they're going to check out MH because of all the love it's gotten in this poll, so hey, mission pretty much accomplished, guys.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries got 1st place. But like RandomH-bomb said, Marble Hornets will probably be featured in Hypable's "Webseries Wednesdays" weekly article; perhaps as soon as next week Wednesday, since Marble Hornets got second place. Not that it's important but the article about Lizzie Bennet Diaries is already out.

I'm still confused. Is the site that hosted the poll a hugely popular site or something?

First time I've ever heard of it.

Checked out the article mostly to see if it would do Marble Hornets justice. Kind of lost interest less than halfway through. I hope they do something different with MH, as there was very little discussion of what the thing was actually about, which makes the article pretty much worthless to anyone who isn't already a fan.

What's Lizzie Bennet supposed to be? Teen Drama?

Jane Austen, actually. It's a modern-day, vlog-style adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.

This is probably one more measure of my basic moral depravity, but every time I see Lizzie Bennet Diaries abbreviated, my brain supplies the fill-in for LBD as "Lizzie Borden Diaries."

I'd probably watch that, though. Laughing

I was wondering if anybody else did that.

And then the rhyme gets caught in my head.

Lizzie Borden took an axe...

Ah that makes sense. Still no shame in silver.

You are not the only ones. My mind makes that translation even when it's written out.

Hypable Interview with Troy Wagner

I was worried that LBD was going to be the one and only webseries artical, when there was nothing on last week Wednesday, but it's here now.
For those who care:
Webseries Wednesday: Exclusive interview with 'Marble Hornets' creator Troy Wagner.

Great!
Thank you for sharing ^^
It was pretty interesting, and it makes me feel more curious about the film.
