I'm amused by the fact that Marble Hornets is what started the entire "proxy" term with ToTheArk, but then later in the series you find out that ToTheArk isn't really a "proxy" at all. 'Tis hilarious.

@Ztakk: The Slender Man Wiki isn't really the most reputable source, as least as far as the context of Marble Hornets. I can't speak to its accuracy for other series, however. For the purposes of this forum, we maintain our own wiki at http://marblehornets.wikidot.com/. (And any of us are welcome to contribute.)

Marble Hornets didn't start anything with the term "proxy"

I figured after looking around the Slender Man wiki isn't the most reputable in terms of Marble Hornets stuff, but was just using it to talk about the whole proxy thing. But thanks for the MH wiki page, didn't even know that existed

The similarities at the beginning between Tim and the Rake I think led people to think Tim (who was assumed to be TTA at the time) was a proxy.

I read his original statement as "Marble Hornets started the proxy term" could just be the way I read it though.

I'm not sure there's another way to read that. "Marble Hornets started the trend of using the term proxy to refer to ToTheArk"? Even if that was the way to write that sentence, which it's not, what else would have started anything specific to ToTheArk, Tribe Twelve?

If you think the term proxy came from MH than you are so wrong it's not even funny.

If you're saying that the idea of a proxy in the slender universe came from MH, than you are still wrong, because MH doesn't use proxies like the other series do. There is no proof that there are any proxies, most evidence leads to tim and alex being in full control of themselves (tim most likely just appears to be a proxy bc he forgets his actions as masky, so you will assume he's not in control of his actions when he clearly is (shown by him leading jay to the tunnel / running past both jay and hoody at times to get to alex)). Totheark is surely not a proxy. The only person who would "take over" tta would be the operator, and the things TTA says don't really coincide with what the operator would be making him say

Whereas EMH and mlandersen have directly shown a being assume control of one of the characters

No, here is where you guys are confused:

Neither "Marble Hornets used the term proxy," nor "ToTheArk is a proxy" is being said.

What is being said is:

"Marble Hornets indirectly started the term proxy, because that's what fans referred to ToTheArk as, which is ironic because it's now been proven that he's almost definitely working against Slenderman."

Thank you. This is exactly what I've been trying to say (and I'm sorry if my posts seemed confusing or contradictory).
