that was me mentioning the reciet thing btw

I'm wondering why nothing new has come up on triskabiblios? There dosn't seem to be alot of gaps in between scribes, maybe this guy is working on something else for trisk?

I cant get shylilembrace lj account to work from the 'www' btn on his/her posts, ..., am i doing something wrong?

i've got a small list of 13books links on my del.icio.us listings, ..., (del.icio.us, i'd lay down my life for it, ..., its bleedin' marvelous i tells ya)

http://del.icio.us/avsp/triskabiblios

i'll try & trawl through this thread & the lazylaces postings to add everything but my net access is slow & problematic

anyone who has more links then them email to me

theres a problem in that lot of the pages appear to have gone from the triskabiblios site, so someone needs to host them, ..., possibly, ..., or not, ..., probably

i'm not really playing the game as it appears far too hard but it is nevertheless very interesting, ..., perhaps i should look arround this site some more

one of the interesting things is the exploration of trust & the verification of ones 'bona fides' on a medium that actually more or less precludes any such verification, ..., thus what you trust is who you are, ..., {insert chocolate biscuit/leather jacket comment here}

so the net is, at the same time, both utterly transparent & totally opaque, ..., hooray! etc

cheers
markp

Interesting conversation with Orkid. More questions than answers are raised from that. I particularily like the Pied Piper bit. But I have a small problem, with the whole justice theory. Why would he leave the lame child behind? What justice is there in leaving an innocent child, amongst the sinners, only to be bereft of friends and the promise of the other place? Seems kind of cruel to me.

Of course it could just be like Islington himself, gathering a group of innocents and leading them away. Only those fast enough to keep up with him and his time bounces make it to the end.

Or I could just be reading things into an old story.

Mg's scribe page has been updated. Basically, it's thirteen smaller pics of the Pied Piper binary---Thirteen Scribes---Thirteen Books.

Are we scribes the children Islington is leading away from the town to whatever fate/or are we tools of justice?

Are the thirteen books the piper's tune?

Something to ponder....

ETA: Also the main Triska index has been updated to include a lunar cycle calendar as well. It leads to this Link to the software company that designed the calendar.

Quote:
"Discover The Fun And Easy Way To Explore The Phases of the Moon — Past and Future!"

(Why care about the moon phase? Because knowing the details of the moon's phase gives you a distinct advantage in your chosen activity! The moon affects nature and all living things. Increase your fishing catch, find trophy bucks, predict animal activity, enjoy a lush garden, stunning star gazing without moonlight, plan hiking and photography trips, track the paranormal, study human behavior or historical events ... whatever your interests, this program makes it simple to follow the moon.)

Mini Trail Diversion

For those looking to do some puzzles, I posted a mini trail which includes a prize for the first person to complete it:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=191207#191207
This may help those who are going into puzzle withdrawl waiting for a real game to start.
They are increasingly difficult, so don't give up after the first few as it looks too easy. I wanted to put something out there that some of our newer folks could use for practice and to see how the puzzles that are part of a game experience might look.
Good luck.

Hrmmm... it seems that you can also see what phase the moon is in on the date your computer is set to. (Got that from the calculatorcat website)

ETA: BTW, congrats Rogi on your trail! I'll take a stab at it. =)

ETA #2: I was working on one of my current art projects today, which was an altered book, and it got me to thinking...We know Islington will probably give us clues in his notebook, but I wonder, could it be an altered book as well? It's very common to use recycled materials in this art form, and maybe Islington is using recycled materials from one of his various points in time?

I pose a few questions from this assumption:

Is the similarity to the receipt a clue?

Is it a clue to Islington's desperation to record his story using the materials he could muster up before the next blink?

Could it be a hint that we must learn to conserve our resources for benefit of the future?

Is it a possibility that Islington is showing us that not everything is useless and that everything can take a new form, achieved with a little ingenuity?

Could the reuse of the paper be the symbolic example of the infinite cycle? (For example: Take a glass of water. Spill that water from the glass, even while on the table it's still water. Soak it up with a towel---still water. As the towel dries, the water evaporates---still water....it just takes a different form. Whatever the vessel that contains it isn't what's important, it is infinite. Changing, yes, but eternal.) This would be a perfect example of the infinite cycle of life.

Wow, all that from pondering on a book.

Mountain Girl's scribe page has changed again to a picture of her house and the words 'be cautious but trust'. I think this is referring to some posts made at lazylaces but I'm not sure

O.k. I tried using the search engine for these forums and it didn't yeild anything. I was just wondering if this link used to point to something.

http://www.triskabiblios.com/chatscript_13sept.txt

I found it on the dixon scribe page. It doesn't seem to lead anywhere anymore. Again sorry if this has been posted before.

No one's really sure if it was indeed Mountain Girl who put that link up at LazyLaces. It does seem weird that Tenessee Jed has the same Moon Phase thing that the Triska site has now.

I also think its wierd that the triskabiblios site links to the page asking to save mountain girl's home, and that islington seems to be advising us on how to take it. It just seems a bit strange for a PM to get involved in something so personal and contraversial. Its almost like its blurring the in game/ out of game line a bit too much I feel

The found 2005 page has authors who were all, for whatever reason, considered true visionaries for their works.

Also, the open circle on the "Found" scrap of paper, is that a symbol for the new moon or the full moon?

Also, I noticed
Quote:
<You>

Next to HG Wells' name.

Gonna keep looking at the percipientagent page, but I see "the voice" and what looks like a figure shouting upward. The metatron, perhaps? The Metatron was a scribe, after all...Probably not, but just a thought.
