 Posting Guidelines

We now have a forum for Studio Cypher! Following are some important guidelines regarding posting to these boards:

  • Please refer to the general unFiction posting guidelines here.
  • Please try and keep the forum as tidy as possible, which is mostly done by using the Search function to see if what you want to post is not already being discussed! You'll find the Search function at the top right-hand side at all times.
  • Please PM me if you have any questions regarding these guidelines or other things regarding the Studio Cypher forum
  • If you are responding to the message immediately above, you don't need to quote the ENTIRE post, just respond. If you are responding to a long post, you don't need to quote the ENTIRE post, just the specific point.
  • If you are having difficulties or have a specific question, post your question in the appropriate thread. Then, if it is solved, please send your THANKS via a PM, no need to add more "noise" to the threads. We already know you are grateful for the help.
  • If you are going to have a conversation (posting back and forth because you can't access IRC chat) with another member, please take it to PM.
  • Please don't delete the contents of your post after it's been replied to. Other players who read the forums at a later stage will not understand what has been going on with blank posts! Even if the post contained already known information, please leave it so the flow isn't ruined.
  • If you are using spoiler tags, please tell people what is in them, otherwise they don't know if they want to read it or not. Please be as clear as possible.
  • Have Fun!

Topic Tags
Please use [TAGS] in the titles of new threads to help make it clear what is being talked about in each thread, Here are some suggestions of what to use:

NEW - New in-game website, phone number, or e-mail from the game.
UPDATE - Use this when an in-game web site, voicemail number or e-mail autoresponder has changed its content. Feel free to put in dates as well, but don't [TAG] them. (DO NOT POST OLD NEWS USING "NEW" OR "UPDATE"!!!)
SPEC - Speculation. You think your post might be right, and some evidence supports your view, but the point is not conclusive.
PUZZLE - A post about game-related puzzles, passwords, UAMs, credit numbers, voicemail codes, etc. If you know the answer, add the word SOLVED to your subject as well.
EVENT - For any real world events/meetings which happen.
INTERACTION/INT/EMAIL/PHONE ? All character interaction should be labeled with this. If you are posting an INTERACTION or EMAIL from a character, go ahead and just [ quote ] it. Save the [ spoiler ] for solved puzzles.
REFERENCE or REF - Use for threads which contain a catalog of relevant information about the game, such as site, character, and contact information (or similar) lists.
SOURCE - Analysis of the HTML of Flash source code underlying game-related pages.
QUESTION or Q - Use this label when you have a factual game-related question which you are fairly certain that the group can answer, or for answers to other QUESTIONs.
TRIVIA - Facts about the game which COULD be relevant, but which, as far as you can tell, probably aren't.
META - Discussions of what the moderators are doing wrong, new labels we should use, how people ought to play the game, or about the Unforums organization generally.
OT - This post is totally unrelated to the game (Off Topic). Posts like this can actually go elsewhere, because of the diverse sections of Unforums.
HUMOR - A post which is teh funny.
SUMMARY - It explains itself really Smile please include a date in the topic, so we know how up-to-date it is

Enjoy the game!
