Mystes was updated to show the text from the email we all received yesterday.

I tried that as well. I also tried over a dozen other pages, including the rest of the ranks and a few dozen other things I could think of. I was about to try CCing a message to all of the (rank names)@mystes.com and so on, to see if there were any hits there. Guess this saves me the trouble n.n

[Edit][Spec] Those HAVE GOT to be constellations of some sort.

While we were all googling for Sacred Places (ieros topos, thanks to Sylvia for finding that), Goldranger was plugging in every constellation in the sky. He discovered that Ophiuchus worked and lead us to the next page in our quest:

http://www.mystes.com/ophiuchus.html

It seemed obvious that this was a simple substitution cipher but reading across it didn't work. Enaxor and I tried deciphering down and got A Death By The Hand Of a Saint. After that my translation started falling apart. Once again Sylvia came through with a translation:

a death by hand of a saint, from the heavens he fell

We are working on finding the next page

Sylvia found the next page:

http://www.mystes.com/mercury

One of Satan's many names is The Morning Star which also is a name that Mercury is known by.

Both Mercury and Venus are both evening and morning stars.

Google and you'll see what I mean. Don't have time to explain here.

Ok, so this picture on mercury.html looks like it has a message hidden in it, in a certain color.

So someone who is Photoshop savvy, try applying different color filters and that will probably bring out the message.

EDIT:

There is also a blank spot in the middle of the image - like a text field.

<curse curse curse curse>

I had this solved at 4:55pm!!!111 (local time for me, it was 2 hours before the solve was posted here)

I did a search for the Serpent Bearer and got this page:

http://www.winshop.com.au/annew/Ophiuchus.html

So the first thing I tried was:

http://www.mystes.com/ophiuchus.html

And it didn't work!!!!111

So I don't know wtf is going on.

From what I can see, just tinkering with it is something like "Vulicus", a spot that might say "Vega", a spot that might say "Serum" "Septum" or "Symptom", a blank spot in the middle, and a spot that might say "Servant" or "Servantus"

But nothing is to clear at all, so I might just be seeing things.

Ah, so I understand the puzzle at least.

The blank spot is probably the 'missing word' in the phrase hidden within that image. And the missing word is the answer to the puzzle which will take us to the next spot.
