i think someone said they'd already done this, but i went thru all the alphabets on omniglot, hoping to find the skull symbols scattered about in various alphabets. no luck. Well, I found 4 matches. either the PM has made up the symbols or maybe we're looking at them wrong. Maybe instead of looking at the symbols as if they are letters forming words in a sentence, maybe they're parts of sigils? or perhaps we should be combining them in some way, or looking at them as something other than substitution letters. cuz frankly, i give up.
I even looked thru the viewer submissions on the omniglot page. no luck.

I've been working on substitutions this morning and hit a road block. I think that either the symbol that looks like an I with a squiggle through it is not a space or this thing is written in a foreign language. I can get 1 word but it is in italian. Any ideas??

i just want to say it's gonna annoy me if we spent all this time trying to solve this puzzle, and the answer is to youtube it and ask for help, and wait for a new NPC to tell us what it means.

My boyfriend is doing subsitution as we speak, but i'm gonna give an amen to Blade's thought. i say we kick the PM's ass if that's the answer.

What's the word you've got? The doctor was referring to "i furfanti di montaggio" in an earlier post...

I go the word "stato" which means state. I got this by subing t for the S symbol and O for the x with the line on top. Maybe I will play with it some more and see if I can get anymore italian words.

Yes, I'm the scoundrel. But it may means the doctor is somehow related to italian, so the skull may be written in italian. After all, he did visit the vatican.
I just hope if the answer comes from another character its something that makes us slap ourselves in the face and say "How didn't I thought of that" and not something that was just impossible for us to solve.

I'd rather it be something that was impossible to solve, since we've been working on this for days. and if this is in italian, screw it, i'm done.

i'm gonna call up a friend in houston and have them go kick somebody if the skull is not meant to be solved. that'll put the paranoid dr on edge.

a little bird told me that someone has actually figured out the skull. he wouldn't tell me what it said, but tormented me with the fact that it has been solved.
Evil.

I hope someone did solve it. I've only got 1 braincell left and it's flickering.

hey, i don't even know who this guy was, he came on IM about three minutes after I decided i'd had enough. it was like he was demonically psychic. and then he wouldn't even tell me the answer after he said it was "really easy."
