so, what do we have?
the girl's clue suggests that we need the "Old Town San Diego State Historic" Park, which is just a couple blocks up the road from the Whaley house. The other possibility is the graveyard, which is a couple blocks the opposite direction.
The house in the background of the plaque picture is not the Whaley house. From looking at Google maps, I think our plaque is in the historic park. So I guess we need to get somebody there to read the plaque for us, at 2613 San Diego Ave, San Diego, CA

Edited so I don't sound so retarded

I'm not playing the game, but was clued into y'all's need for this plaque... and it's not far from me, so I'll go take a gander at it.

Unless I'm confused, isn't the "quest" or "puzzle" or whatever to see what's on the plaque? so doesn't that mean the photo gave us the answer?

Yeah I found that pic earlier. Its quite interesting actually how many of the graves are under the street now, and they have tombstones like pointing to the right saying "Mr.Whoever doesnt lie here, he lies a couple of feet past this fence under the street".

The plaque we have to read though I think is the one at the Historic Park.

From the rules in plain english

Quote:
LOCATION TRIALS are obtained by successfully completing LORE TRIALS. As soon as one of the teams has solved the preceding LORE TRIAL, the details for the associated LOCATION TRIAL will be released for all the families to view. Of course, if you don't know the location to where you must send a family representative (i.e., the colution to the LORE TRIAL), then your family will have a hard time completing the location trial. Location Trials are related to Anna's favorite travel destinations and personal experiences with the areas featured in the lore. These trials are sometimes solved easily by simply revisiting the location in question and locating a number, phrase or code native to the area (e.g. an ordinance number or a series of dates on a monument). Other times, information needs to be collected at the location and then used to creatively decipher and tackle the trial. Each LOCATION TRIAL includes leading hints about the extent of claiming or information gathering-deciphering that needs to go on at the site of the location. What you're looking for at the site of a location trial is usually something pre-existing at the location (versus a sticker or some other nonsense like that). If there is an exception, it should be apparant in the preamble that you unlocked by solving the lore trial.

COMPLETING A LOCATION TRIAL by sending an email to Taylor with the correct solution candidate and the family name rewards players with a piece of the CHALLENGE TO DISCOVER ANNA'S FOUNTAIN OF TRUTH. Specifically, LOCATION TRIALS will yield information about where and when to go in St. Augustine on December 22. THe family will also earn LOYALTY POINTS for revisiting one of Aunt Anna's special places.

It's basically impossible to read it from the picture. I can make out "the" as the first word, but because of the angle, and because the picture is so small its unreadable.

My spec: that house in the background is the side of the Robinson-Rose house, which is the Visitor's Center for the park. But i haven't been able to get a good side shot of that house to verify it.

i wasted like 20 mins (at work) trying to photoshop it into some semblance of readability, but it's just too small. I got tantalizingly close... but nothin.

the cemetery plaque is not the same thing, and the location of the shot for the plaque we need doesn't seem to fit in with the location of the cemetery

That'd be awesome, celina!

edit:
SPEC - I think the plaque is gonna be about the history/demise of the Kumeyaay indians, since she "paused to consider all the other ghosts...that might dwell alongside the Washburn girl." and the title of the trial (and second word on the plaque) is Kumeyaay.

I cant find the precise piece of info that's on the plaque, though.

Looks like Celina beat me. That's OK. I couldn't get down there until Thanksgiving anyway. Then I'd have to explain to the family what I was doing and they wouldn't understand and then it would be a thing and..
Sorry, my baggage Wink
