[SOLVED] Mystery Letter Number Combos Ready for specs -- it's Gronsfeld edit: Moved from sticky to a normal topic and tagged with Puzzle.
We are now ready for specs. See this thread were it all started http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17942
So far we have: O1 T2 P3 G4 F5 W6
some have been found on the back of the letter while others have been found on the outside of the envelope.
So far they have been displayed in three fashions:
O1 -- O
1
-- O
1
T2 -- T
2
-- T
2
P3 -- P
3
-- P
3
G4 -- G
4
-- G
4
F5 -- F
5
-- G
5
W6 -- W
6
-- W
6
From bravil's post we learn that we are working with a Gronsfeld Cipher.
And so far I got NRMCAQ
here is some info to help with Gronsfeld:

Bit confused - I get N L P E X P (8 characters back from F is X, 7 characters back from W is P)- or am I doing this completely wrong

okay.. the core output email lists 180287, and I can see those six match up. But this does not yet give us a word. Any other ideas?

Kuma - I guess you went through every possible combination of the letters to get to this list. Do you have a complete list that you could attach for us all to look at ?
Edit: Actually thinking about it that might be unlikely as there are about 1 million possible combinations - sorry !!

Gronsfeld Grid If the numbers following the letters give the order of the letters then the Gronsfeld Grid looks like this
0 O T P G F W
1 N S O F E V
2 M R N E D U
3 L Q M D C T
4 K P L C B S
5 J O K B A R
6 I N J A Z Q
7 H M I Z Y P
8 G L H Y X O
9 F K G X W N
which may help

Standard procedure for Gronsfeld (just like any other substitution cipher) is to not use the same key digit twice. Whether Eva cares about this or not is a different matter of course..

Other words I have found include:
glider 887135
glides 887134
folder 954315
holder 754315
golden 854319
golden is interesting as it doesn't have any repeat numbers.

A solve and a strange video So it came up in chat that some people were trying /NLPEXP.html at the end of Eva's URL. yanka pointed out that it didn't make much sense for it to be on her site when Eva didn't put the letters/numbers on the posters. I suggested we try it with the other sites and voila !
