I can't seem to find the script tags - are you talking about the http://carniceriaguzmam.com/ site? Maybe I am just missing them.

On the Carniceria Guzman website doesn't the chalkboard look like you should be able to do something with the sticks on the bottom? They almost look like matches face to face. Now that I'm writing this in the video the clue (Carniceria Guzmam and Ham) was written on a chalkboard! Maybe we need to do something with that?

Does it say Ham Or does it say hay?

It says hay as in "has" ---"The Guzmam Store has...."

Go all the way back to page 12 of this forum, 6 posts down, and you will see the answer. Everything you will need to go further in the game will be posted after that - so follow along and soon you should catch up. Kind of stuck now on 7.

maybe we should do a summary post...

When I get a chance tonight I'll post a transcript of the Spanish radio.

I think the best that I can make up with that sign is Hospedaje de Alegria Aleman, essentially the Alegria Aleman's Hostel. It yielded nothing for me on Google.

It could also read something like Alexa Aleman, as in a person's name, but that yielded nothing as well.

I tried Arpa, even though it doesn't look like it is the word because it's Spanish for Harp as in Guinness' logo. It was used already in one site, but it could definitely appear again.

Searching hospedaje and carnicería brings up Guzmam's link in the Google ads. Just carnicería doesn't. So I think the two might be linked. Similarly I think that there are other unused clues so far. The Federico III restaurante y confitería wasn't used for that clue. Assuming these are all shots within "the village" maybe all of these people and buildings tie together.

Don't know if any of that helps, just stuff I've been mulling over today.

edited due to a translation error. Aleman alegre would be happy German. Alegria Aleman would be a woman's name.

I just put in "toppling festival" into google and game up with this site:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.inthenews.co.uk/sports/formula-one/

which if you look down at the bottom left it says toppling. Then when you click on that it takes you to this site:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.guinness.com/tipping

Which has this message:
Quote:
We apologize but there were problems rendering the current page.

Edit: toppling not tipping

Federico III the Happy German
Trivia

I have been watching your amazing progress while fiddling around with my own attempts to solve clues. Regarding the Federico III Hosteria - restaurante y confitería - It exists in AR at the site www.cafedelhostal.com.ar, but I don't see it as an in game site as the Source code does not seem to contain the [:::I:::] and it has active links to the outside (AR tourism offices), but Federico III is the Spanish translation for Frederick III King of Germany and Mr X points out that Alegria Aleman roughly translates as the Happy German?

Probably nothing - but your collective genius may discover otherwise.

[EDIT] www.cafedelhostal.com.ar is the url - but it seems not to have linked correctly in my post.

FUTURE puzzle sites

Well, since we kick so much butt, I do think we should keep track of the future sites as well.

How did we find them? Well with a little luck, and a whole lot of awesome.

Remember: It is not 100% clear which video/domino these sites lead too but they will be used sometime in the future. Also, it is believed these sites are not "activated" until you solve the previous puzzle.

Domino 8(?):
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.inclinarelpunto.com/#
In the source code we find "356758"
And YES that is a password, but to which domino? We are not quite sure.

Domino 9(?):
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Probably the most fun site to-be:
http://www.lafuentedemusica.com/#
In the source code, we are given a list of songs... Each song pertains to a clue we have already done:

Tick Tock Boogie
Gazump Stomp
Flippin' Pages
Strike a Light Blues
Alfajores Dub
Mama Pacha's Swing
Chorizo Blues
Monkey Wrench
Brassic Burnin'

This is what we have found out so far, FEEL FREE TO ADD!

Tick Tock Boogie-?
Gazump Stomp-?
Flippin' Pages- Video 4, Domino 7
Strike a Light Blues- Video 6, Domino 7
Alfajores Dub-?
Mama Pacha's Swing-?
Chorizo Blues- Video 7, Domino 10
Monkey Wrench-Video 3, Domino 11
Brassic Burnin' -?

 Ahhhh
Ahhhh

This is making me crazy!! Thanks for all the tips guys i am now where you are. In the source code for http://www.inclinarelpunto.com/#
I found a quote(I don't know if it has any relevancy)

"Cosas buenas llegan a los que esperan! We have a few secrets in store for the people this year!" Señor Ramon

"Cosas buenas llegan a los que esperan" = Good things come to those who wait. Although it is the slogan i think it is telling us to wait Very Happy

"inclinar el punto"(Name of the site) = (Literal translation) Inclining the point[/youtube]

Are you lost?

Yes, as the wise mayor said, this game will not be an easy one... and I think we are all finding that out the hard way! "But Cap'n I'm so lost none of this makes ANY SENSE, where are you finding all of this info!?" you say? Well, let me give you a few secrets to help you out.

1) Watch the videos closely... Almost always your next lead can be found in the videos. Remember, once the clip end, you can move the time-bar at the bottom and move frame-by-frame throughout the movie. Look in the background, look at the signs, look at words strewn throughout the video. Almost always the signs will lead you to the next website.

2) "But how do you find the next website?" Well, there are plenty of ways to do it... you could just stare at Juan Ramon's unforgiving eyes for 30 min and hope he tells you the answer... but he's a jerk and I dont think that will happen anytime soon.

But in all seriousness, the best way to find the next site is by using the search bar at the bottom of the game-page. This links to google.co.uk. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Not all of the same sites are found on the .com as found on the .uk Tip: Search for the "clues" found in the video.

3) Search the source-code for every in-game webpage. How do I know this page is ingame? Well, in the source code, every page is started with a "[:::|:::]" nd ascii domino. Alot of info can be found in the source code. (View>page source) [firefox users ctrl+u]

4) If the page is a flash-site, it is probably some sort of "clicking puzzle" what I mean by that is that you will have to trigger an event by clicking or dragging something. If you seem to have a hard time accessing the puzzle/site and you are using firefox, try internet explorer. Worked for me a few times. ALSO make sure your flash is updated to flash9

5) E-mail the in-game characters! This is the cool part about ARG's, getting able to converse with the in-game characters. Every site has a contact link of some sort. Usually the e-mail address is Info@*website name*.com You will be sent an automated response giving you a hint on how to solve that site's puzzle.

6) Browse the topic! Since we have no life and love to play ARG's we have already solved most of the puzzle, but don't worry! Browse the topic. Yes I know it is already over 20 pages, and there are probably going to be a lot more... But you will be able to follow our train of thought if you read from the beginning! You'll get to see the drama of human emotions as the game unfolds. All the info is there! If you are REALLY stuck, read it again. Yes, I know the password is not there, but how to find it IS. This IS a game, we cant tell you everything, thats the fun of it  . And if you are REALLY stuck, go ahead and ask us, we'll push you in the right direction.

7) As always, read the rules and read the ARG player tutorial (a more general tutorial on how to solve ARG's).

8) Most importantly, have fun and HAPPY HUNTING! :D

CaptKing in the source code for this site there is a recipe for the Alfajores:

I don't understand how you are applying the videos/Dominos to the songs below so I thought I'd pass on the info. to you:D

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I would think it would be Alfajores Dub-Domino 2? Yes/No? Maybe you can explain your reasoning. Embarassed

As you were typing this, I decided to go back to the car/rag website and check out the source code as I don't remember seeing anthing posted yet.

Searching a few things - nothing relevant yet, but will post so people don't have to waste time doing the same thing:

Saw a mention of "Fausto Santiago" being employee of the month. Searched Uk google for the name and first listing comes up:
http://repcheck.com/names/info.php?fname=Fausto&lname=Santiago
On the last game I played, Covet, there was a time when we had to sign-up for a free website to get info on a player, so I thought it may be the case here. Signed up for a free account to get to his page and it didn't seem to pan out. It basically had nothing on it except his location Los Angeles, CA and a small photo with unreadable text on it.

Says he prefers e-mails in spanish - so I cannot e-mail him to see if it's a clue or not

Continued searching and found the movie database having a link where an actor by the name of Carlos Ancira played a character named Fausto Santiago in a movie named "Camino secreto, El" which when translated means "secret way". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0214336/

So have no idea.

Also noticed on the same website, on the links it has - there is a word typed in the search box - same word on every link - abarth. See what I am talking about here:

Edited: Found out that "abarth" is the name of a car - sorry I have never heard of it before - http://www.speedace.info/automotive_directory/abarth.htm

What attracted me to this whole thing was that I work in advertising and I think this is a bit of clever advertising. I'm new to the concept of ARG, but it does seem pretty cool.

I think we're in for a bit of a wait. Guinness has used the strapline "Good things come to those who wait" in many, many ads in the last few years. We've seen it appear a few times in this game.

I think the key here is that it isn't like the other ARG's that I've browsed here. It's an advertisement first and foremost. I tend to think that this didn't just appear at random. By that I mean I think that the timing plays into something else, a larger marketing platform. It might have to do with Halloween and something else Guinness has going on.

Here's a quote from the team behind it.

Quote:
"This time we thought we'd do things a little differently. We're not launching the new GUINNESS® ad on TV. Instead, we decided it would be more interesting to hide it online for a Guinness fan to find – and launch for us! To be the first to see the new ad you must solve a series of clues, codes and puzzles and piece together the new film…but don't expect it to be easy.

As you know, it just wouldn't be GUINNESS® if the reward didn't involve a little waiting. The site goes live soon, but until then we'd like you to meet Juan Ramon, the mayor of the village. He may even give you some clues to get you started."

The emphasis is mine, but I think that plays into where we are at the moment.
