Read through this last night, and thought I'd pitch my two cents in: Novelty musician Tom Lehrer wrote a song called "Be Prepared" (along with a lot of other fairly funny songs) - I'm not sur how this could help, just figured I'd add another straw to grasp at.

It's now been 24 days since the blog had any activity 28 days since anything has happened on justin.tv and 13 days since Doug posted the info from Cstrife311. I think it's now safe to assume that Jeff went the way of Steve. Thanks for the experience. Cool story.

Yes, sadly, I think Jeff has left us for good. I guess I'll have to let this one go. Thanks for the experience Tidus. This was my 2nd game I've been active in, and it was very interesting, and I appreciate the effort. pe@ce

actually, this didn't die guys. We saw it to the end. It didn't implode or explode. The PM was successful. Jeff just went the way that bullerman said that Steve went and us too for that matter. So, I think this is an appropriate ending.

Appropriate, yes, but still sad. Even though Bullerman said we couldn't save Jeff, I still had hope something could be done. It would have been nice if he posted on Bullerman.net that Jeff was dead instead of leaving us hanging like that. Not a very Bullerman thing to do though, he's not exactly nice. Either way, this was a great game and a lot of fun. Also, very well done story and production-wise. I look forward to playing whatever the PM has in store for us next!!

Would it be appropriate to send an email to Tidus to try to set up a meeting to discuss the game, what we missed, ideas that the PM was trying to convey, etc. etc.? Or should we just post here in case this is just a lull in the game?

I just don't remember there being a real tie-up point. The last thing I remember is Steve writing somewhere "be prepared". And then nothing.

Oh well. It was a great ride with great puzzles and my first real ARG, so I have no regrets. Kudos to the PM.

Yes it's sad, just wanted everyone to know it was a success. That sounds like a good idea, natas. Why don't you do that? At least, that way we will know for sure one way or the other. I don't think it's a lull but I could be wrong. The PM can post on this forum now if it's ended and if he wants to, of course.

If you're sure this game is over, would you guys mind me unstickying this thread? It would still be accessible in N&R; unstickying would just keep people from thinking it was still active.

I would say it's safe to unsticky. Thank you for stickying it in the first place.

Well right before the "be prepared" comment there was a video where Jeff was saying he was going to try the way out Steve left. If this is the end I would assume he tried, and failed.

reposting this from here, so anyone reading this will better understand what happened to Jeff in the end.

Dan Bullerman to Xurik wrote:
I want to help. My 3 questions to you are:
1. Exactly what is happening to Jeff?
2. Who are behind it?
3. How do we stop this from happening to Jeff?

Jeff is sinking deeper into psychosis. He no longer has the ability to discern this world from the other. The line between reality
and the dark matter of this reality has been erased for him. The things Jeff sees are real though it is not natural for him or any
of us to interact with them.

Jeff is the reason, Steve before him and countless others before him. Jeff is only the latest link in our push for success.
I suppose I can tell you that Jeff works for me as part of the JASON advisory group. He is still employed by us although he no
longer seems to realize that. I only tell you this now because there are only two paths this can follow. Either Jeff succeeds
and it will not matter that you know, or Jeff follows Steve into the dark; as will you and anyone else who has watched.

You cannot stop this from happening, it is already happening. There is no way to reverse it, you can only help him finish. Jeff was
stupid to bring you in and it will weigh heavy on my conscience, but these things are sometimes unavoidable. Help Jeff control the dark
matter and he can resume life as everyone else will, although life as we know it will change for all. If Jeff fails – if you fail, you
will be cast aside like all those before him as someone who's lost their grip. It is my belief that Jeff can no longer process this
information. Telling him will only increase your chance for failure. But it is your life on the line now, do with it what you wish.

I will be contacting you soon with my request. If you do not comply, This will end.

Dan Bullerman

So.... it's over?

It's over?

It's been fun, this is really the first ARG I have ever played from start to finish (most either closed early or I joined late). It was a good story to.

Just thought i would point this out though, cstrife311 last logged in 2 days, 6 hours, and 42 minutes ago. I must have been away from the computer when he logged in. I didn't get a chance to talk though.

dont want it to be over yet. Have been extremely busy with RL work. Hopefully you guys are still interested in the story to continue. If so, I will contribute more of my story Smile If not, thanks for playing!
