[QUESTION] What in the name of Leeroy Jenkins is a trout?

Have a vague sense that it means general stupidity, but no sure if I'm getting it fully. Thank you.

Edit - Tagged, don't forget our lovely question thread here Smile - MikeyJ

TROUT is what we give out to gentley remind someone that what they have posted has already been discussed elsewhere. It is not a slap-in-the-face. We like to point out that this item has already been found/discussed/baked/broiled/buttered/and served elsewhere. It should always be accompanied by a link to the original post so others will know where to look. And you can use the Trout icon without taking up alot of extra room in the thread.

We have a glossary of terms that can be helpful in understanding the ARG language (click on the trout link to the glossary forum).
