[PUZZLE] October 9 pictures at paintover

 		The new binary filename for the stairs pic is 15. So we have 1 4 9 25 15...

1*1
2*2
3*3
5*5
5*3

If 25 weren't there, I'd put money on the next one being 22...ah well. It looks like they're playing with prime multiplication...maybe 2*3=6 as a next one? Doesn't exist yet, anyway...we're missing something here...

(btw, I wanted to post this in the Oct. 11 pic threads, but they were all locked because the mods thought the pic was solved, end of story, no more discussion...well, the naming pattern isn't solved, is it? Sorry, but the moderation on this forum drives me crazy...)

If you think about it, discussing the binary doesn't fit in any of the picture threads.. you can feel free to create a new thread for it since we've had requests for more threads instead of long threads.

Call it "[PUZZLE] paintover binary filenames"... and discuss as you wish.. that way you don't have to come back to a spefic picture thread (Oct 1st, OR Oct 11th) whenever you need to talk about new additions to paintover..


And I totally agree.. the moderation on this forum drives me crazy too!

Hee...ok, I see your point. Sorry, I'm not a big fan of strict moderation, but this forum is undisputably the most coherent source of info on this topic, so I guess you guys must be doing something right. Wink

 		Might not those picture be part of a message sends from caesar to someone else. Note that the last picture have sasquatch for title and sasquatch is a bigfoot in canada....

 		Was just playing around with all the pictures... something disturbed me in the congratulations pic, it was the "golden fog". it seems to me as if this is a shadow or something.

Playing around (Flipping, greyscale, etc) with this picture, it became more and more clear.
Comparing it to the America power supply problem picture, i recognized, that the shadow in the cong pic seems to have exactly the shape of america.
(Have a short look at the attachements)

So it is possible, that the "Congratulations" is dedicated to those who made this happen and that it is meant ironically.

ODEON. nice Find.

If you notice in the Congrats pic, there is a white star under the R in congrats. Over lay the pictures and that white star should point to something or somethings. Have to find out if the star points to something in the middle of the star or the points of the star correspond with the map.

actually we have to find out, what this photo of america means. It s NOT a picture of the power supply breakdown, because if I remember correctly cities like NY, Chicago etc. were without any power and on the photo, we see, that these cities HAVE Power!
The whole northern countries arewithout any lights...

I made an overlay of the congratulations pic, the america pic AND a screenshot of the map given on www.metacortechs.com.

Interesting point:

The cong pic seems to have nothing to do with this(maybe a hintto take a closer look ?)
The only office of Metacortechs which is still lighten is the one in chicago... one more hint to chicago....

We do know that this image was not produced purely for our benefit ... someone created it post-blackout (sometime around August 20th?) and it depicts just New York state having no power. Check out this site that does a nice job of debunking that image and how it was created:

Well, that's actually the normal state of affairs Smile That same site mentioned above shows you an unaltered NASA image (Earth at Night) http://www.cen.uiuc.edu/~tdelling/earthlights_dmsp_small.jpg and there isn't much call for electric light up there in the North, eh? The moose and bears do all their reading by candlelight Laughing I've spent more time in the Canadian North than most folks, and on the level, there aren't too many people up there ... heck, once you hit permafrost, there aren't any roads, and few settlements large enough that they generate enough light at night to be seen on this sort of image..

Maybe chicago will be the next location to start listing people. A clue to tell us to keep a check on it.

I think that picture is of the US at night. Basically the light noise that is produced or what it looks like from space at night.

 		I'm assuming no one thinks that the Congratulations is a US flag picture. I'm not American, but I didn't think there were 70 stars on that flag.
