Well that's interesting. I've been doubting all along that anything would happen right at the stroke of midnight... until you just explained why YOU think nothing will happen right at the stroke of midnight =P
I've been trying to place the meaning of "A Long Walk", the third graph. If they're all connected, this might POSSIBLY mean something.

looks like a pretty good way to spend the new year, altogether.

That January 1st 2009 unix timestamp may have been midnight, but often, in computing, you use Greenwich Mean Time (also known as UTC) if you want to specify something independent of the time zone. So January 1st 2009 midnight UTC occurs in Manhattan on December 31st at 7 pm.
That's exactly why I've been doubting the 'midnight in NYC' theory. But it's definitely possible they just chose that timestamp as an easy way to denote 12:00 a.m., Jan 1st (in whatever timezone the location turned out to be).

Oh yes, the Emerald Nuts Midnight run. Godseed is in an emerald casket.
If this is all about nuts, I swear to you, I'm going to commit murder.

Oh god. That fits. Seems like Emerald would have embedded an E.M.E.R.A.L.D. thing somewhere, tho:

We might be looking in Central Park. Here's what I've found; feel free to prove me wrong (see images below).

it appears we have a new dead drop.
The thumbprint lines up with central park's baseball fields
And the video's treasure hunter is digging outside a baseball field
"I hope you're not planning to dig THERE, treasure hunter"
sorry, but without "inside information" (which seems to be running rampant tonight), how is this verified? where is the justification of this theory?

There is no justification of the theory, just as there was no justification of either of the previous two. People develop theories, and when one seems to have a lot of clues pointing toward one thing, they try it out.
That said, I think waiting until January would be a mistake. I'm sure SOMETHING will be happening on January 1st, but I see nothing about this drop that says to wait until then.

I think the best explanation is in the "Piecing together a map" thread starting at this post . It seems like a pretty compelling case for further investigation.

Yea, I was in IRC when post larval figured most of it out, and I'm pretty convinced that Central Park is the intended drop zone.
Personally, the 2010/Jackie O thing was what really sold me. I might be biased, but that's too much to be just pure coincidence.

Should I go out to the park tomorrow and scope this out? I'm not willing to bring a shovel but I'm willing to go, take photos and capture video of whatever is going on at that ball field.
I'm new, I haven't posted yet, but I've been following along and have been brainstorming with Chris Menning for a while about this whole thing.

Folks, lets also not forget that there's a timer on the TIMM.com page that is counting down to 1/16, not 1/1.
Although, if this is all an ad for nuts......cool dog help us.

Welcome to uF
There's no harm at all in taking a walk and looking around. All we know so far is that we THINK we know where something might be/happen. So any confirmation that it is/isn't there now would be helpful.
But a shovel... good call there. To anyone considering it: digging up Central Park is just a bad idea. A lot of work (i.e. money) has gone into restoring and maintaining that field, and the Parks Dept. will frown heavily down upon 'treasure hunters' randomly tearing it apart.

I'd definitely try picking up the baseball bases and taking a peek underneath, though! The X on the map seems to be hovering over a corner of the middle left baseball diamond.

NYC Dead Drop I was thinking...you know what happens in NYC on 1/1? The ball drop... maybe the PM's are planning a "ball drop" of their own (get it? baseball? Dead drop?). I don't think the digging for treasure entails a shovel myself, that would be destruction of property blah blah blah. (Remember nobody is even supposed to bother cafe staff etc.) Everyone playing this game is digging for treasure. We're doing it right now.
