Ok, I decided to use an anagram solver with that phrase.
It spit out a metric ton of results, so I'll just post the ones that don't incorporate words so obscure I've never heard them before in my life.

right, so looks like the anagram is in four words rather than three

As far as I can see, the first word could only be either 'at' or 'it'

I think "we are still here" is a message coming from Lane and the crew. Remember, these messages had no title or signature, and the crew had supposedly disappeared. They seem to have found some way to contact us. Or, at least one of them has... I don't think it's meant to help with the puzzle at this point, just to provide part of the narrative.

The headline of the story as it appeared in the Washington Post was "Curiosity Killed the Cat". Along with Da Vinci's Study of Cats and the crew member named Cat, I guess these should add up to something but I'm not sure what.

Alhazen was a well known physicist specialized in optics. "knowing how to see" follows this. Just some similarities I'm throwing out there

Random thought.... everything seems to be bringing us back to 'polymath' right? But we're being told we need to know how to see, and different trails and all that... well, what if the password is an anagram of 'polymath'?

No, remember that list of blanks Lis found in Lane's log. We already know that we'll have to use that to find the password. We just don't know how to use it yet. Too bad "polymath" doesn't fit into any of those lines of blanks...

Factor in that Schrodinger associated with Einstein, and Einstein was the only not artist on the list...
