bethlmcconnell: that would make sense. I know of no lab that could create something this advanced
bethlmcconnell: but now it's time for dinner and then I'm going to update my log. I'll be back in an hour or so.

Well, this was my "conversation" with her, if you can call it that.

Diandra (7:42:12 PM): Beth, I am reading your log page, and trying to figure out your friend's purpose. Since he can translocate, perhaps his function is tracking. Maybe see if he can find someone and appear there. This would be very useful for missing persons, don'tcha think?

bethlmcconnell (8:19:21 PM): that would be. I'll work on that with him!

Diandra (8:21:03 PM): beth, perhaps he is trying to gain your trust by showing you he has influence over certain things in the environment. He's a computer program, basically. What if the world as you know it was controlled by a massive computer program, too?

Diandra (8:22:09 PM): i mean it's as strange as your friend having influence over it in the first place. Kinda like this being a dream within a dream and you just have to WAKE UP, BETH!



It would be cool if Beth's friend could locate Jesse and (s)heismissing. It would also be great if Beth's friend is her White Rabbit, trying to lead her out of the Matrix...showing her all of these things so that he gains her trust and can explain. I mean Neo had a hard enough time understanding it when it was shown to him!

Maybe his environmental influence only lasts a short time because he needs more computing power, so he only causes temporary disruptions.

chainedlightning: Perhaps by coming up with two lists - what he can and what he cannot do, it might point you in the right direction?

Okay, so some of that was kinda lame, but I felt like unless I hit upon what she was looking for that I wasn't going to get a response, so I just started putting stuff out there to see if she responded. My "moon" thing was kind of a play on The 13th Floor - when they left the boundaries of their reality (the city) the program didn't know how to deal with it - I'm wondering what the outer boundary of the Matrix is? Of course, we've been to the moon in this reality, so that isn't it, should have thought of that before putting it out there. Oh well.

bethlmcconnell: travelling was almost instant and, to be honest, I probably had my eyes closed the whole time.
Moatie2: there is heat, cold, light, dark. Maybe he can even change speed of light!

Commentary on my chat: She doesn't know much about Leiphe and Wongmo. She doesn't know much about The Aquapolis. The only thing she knows is that there's posters advertising for it around her job. According to her, she wasn't in an IRC room. Maybe she didn't know she was there. Odd. Since I don't get IRC with my damn college net connection, I was conversing with her on AIM.
