It does look a lot like a compass rose. It has the cardinal directions, and then the ordinals in between. Not sure why that would be on a dome shaped thing unless it's a really wacky globe, though.

Yep I agree, and just for info the star is (IMO) a compass rose, I have searched everything I can think of that is domed and has this compass rose in the center with a filigree around it, no luck finding it.

I'm thinking that since to Eiffel tower is so prominent in the trailer and all, that the picture could have the tower sitting on Megan's "secret gift" (Dad's service medal, souvenir button/badge from Eiffel tower...ect) something she would be able to keep hidden... I dunno <shrug>

I do believe there is a compass at one of the legs of the tower

Orrrr...you were trying to 'hide something in plain sight' from a casual observer - like a 'nosy Mother', for instance. A mother who might not be familiar with compasses, and might well assume it was just a 'fancy base' for the Tower to sit upon.

 		I thought that it might possibly be a paperweight, since that would potentially need some extra heft in the form of a base, but Google image search hasn't produced anything. I'm leaning toward the Tower and the base not being attached, and the "'hiding in plain sight" theory sounds good to me!

Now what is it? Arghhhhh. I feel like we're missing something that should be really easy to find, and since we are not finding it it's becoming pretty frustrating. I almost want to give up (but I won't!).

It would be seriously unwise for BR to make a shill promotional account at either of those very real websites full of very real preppers.

I just read that there are going to be 4 new trailers released in theaters this weekend. Maybe then we will move forward?

 		Pixiestix, are real life preppers dangerous? I only have a cursory knowledge of them in that everyone pokes fun at their conspiracy theories. I thought maybe, just maybe, they might have contacted the website managers to get them in on it, but you're probably right in that there isn't anything. I'm grasping at any straw I can find!

Some of them can be.... The "militia" (note, I'm not going to argue politics here) out in Oregon are (really pathetic excuses for) preppers (who forgets snacks???). But not all preppers are. My point was more, infiltrating a real website like that would be bad. They would probably be breaking TOS wherever they are... And given that it looks like JG's character is kinda psycho, I doubt the real life preppers would be in on things.

With no other leads at the moment, I was still hoping that the license plate would lead somewhere. It turns out that it's not even a real plate. I guess that's no surprise.

According to this website (http://www.txdmv.gov/motorists/license-plates?tab=general-issue-license-plates), the Texas plate design that seems to match this plate always has a pattern of two letters followed by a number, and then a letter followed by three numbers, which doesn't match. Boo.

Oh well. Now I know for sure that it can't mean anything!
