Guilty Axon 10:41

Guilty Axon 10:41
I was there, but the phone didn't ring. I tested it first with my cell phone and it rang. I also looked inside nearby buildings, but could not find any other pay phones, so I'm almost certain I was at the correct phone.
I made the weirdest discovery right at 10:41 as I was waiting for the phone to ring, there were bees IN the phone booth. There was a big black bee (or hornet) sitting on the phone and there was a tiny nest in the upper corner with yellow and black bees (wasps?) on it. I'm not lying, I was there alone, but check out my photos on burper.blogspot.com

This is my first post and I'm new to this whole thing. I hope people get to read this, and that I followed the "rules" correctly by posting in the right location. Feed back would be appreciated.

Thanks vpisteve...I was hoping someone would post it or record it. I didn't get a chance to record it myself, I forgot!

Good job. And good heavens, you drove down from Vancouver and went through Customs for this! Doubling Canadian axon-hotting participation over night!

Pulse Broadcast and a Question...

They used photos that were posted on this forum. Okota's pic of the Berkeley Team was in there as were several others. This is the first time I've been on tv! sort of. In my line of work, the only time you are on TV is when the lawsuits are about to start.

They also showed fast/blurred sections of thebruces' transcipts too.

Too bad that won't be on again so I can record it.

so....considering that the axons for escape have been finished with no fanfare from Melissa, are people giving up on completing the axons? The only other reason people appear to be trying to finish them now is regional pride. While I think it would be cool if they were all done, most of the rest appear to be located in inaccessible spots, or going to broken phones.

What do you all think? is this puzzle done? or done enough? I don't have enough ARG experience to know when done is done.

HOLY CRAP! Ok...so...just got back from the Indianapolis, Indiana axon that STRAIGHT UP went HOT! Sorry...excited.
Later, I think I will post the story. The pictures are being developed as we speak! And I mean...a LOT of pictures. Me, cmwak1, and my two friends that got interested (kind of by force), bananaman, and rashii12345. I wasn't personally at the actual axon, but I was close enough! WOO!

Will post later.

-Sno
PS: Big shout-out to hebel2k...He's the one who activated it!

Sorry once more...excited!

I was at one that went hot, and one that didn't

That one that went hot I was late too... good thing some other people were already there, because they got it activated.

The other one didn't work out. I was the one to answer... and boy was it hard to hear. There was a really high pitch ringing sound over the message. We think the phone is broken because when you talk into it, you can't hear yourself in the ear peice. Also, when you test it for incoming calls, the person that answers the phone only hears, "Error 48."

We aren't sure how the phone call from the Operator came through, but it did. I think my friend went out again this morning, but I see the AXON didn't go hot, so I think they are having troubles getting it up. I wonder if we can have the location changed or cancled.

This sounds really familiar. Neutral

All axons in Indy are hot! (Repost)

All the Axons in Indianapolis are hot… the walmart one was a little tricky. But the more I think about it the more I believe we need to be going off of addresses that correspond to GPS cords not just going straight to the coordinates. The GPS cords for the Hey_Soldier in Indianapolis led to the street address for the Walmart, but the Walmart itself was several hundred yards away! I checked on the Geocode website and the coordinates for the address were EXACTLY right. It took a little bit of doing to make sure all the phones were covered. I guessed right. There were a few other guys out there covering other phones. They took some pictures to immortalize the event. Big fun.
My six month old daughter was there as well. She was also at the other site in Indianapolis when it went hot. She is a good luck charm or something. Stranded artificial intelligences must love babies…

Indianapolis Axon

Alright, now I have some time to share the great story of the Indianapolis axon. Gather round children...it's story time.
So, it was me, cmwak1, rashii12345, and bananaman all at ITT and we left at 8:45. We scouted the giant parking lot for where I thought the axon was, but there was no phone. We stopped by Kinko's to ask where their payphone was, but they said there was none. They told us that BurgerKing and Wal-Mart had some. So...we went to WallyWorld and got two disposable cameras. Rashii dropped cmwak1 and I at the BurgerKing phone and they went to cover the phone we found in the Wal-Mart. We had cell phones to contact eachother in case of axon activity. We also tested both phones, and they worked.
A lot of the waiting at the BK phone was just cmwak1 and I screwing around and freaking people out. We took some pictures and such, which are later in the post. There was this guy, whom I have dubbed creepyorangeshirtguy. We think he worked at Rallys, and was eating breakfast before they opened. He was sitting on a table, but then wandered over to the BK parkinglot and just kind of lingered. He kept glancing at us. We think he was trying to eavesdrop. Creepy.
Then later, a hoopty Riviera rolled up and offered us drugs. Surprisingly, we declined. Suddenly, we get a cell call from rashii, and the first thing cmwak1 hears is "We're hot! We're hot!" "You're f***ing with me...Don't f*** with me." "Seriously, we're HOT!" "Well, come pick us up!"
So, they come and pick us up and we head back to Wal-Mart. Turns out, there was another phone at the OTHER WM exit. A nice little fellow, we know now as hebel2k, was evidently covering that phone. He noticed rashii and bananaman at their phone, and decided to go cover the other. He was the lucky winner. While the hey_soldier message was playing on his phone, he called the other payphone on his cell to see if rashii and bananaman wanted to come over and listen (They were too late though).
When they picked us up and filled us in, I asked them where the guy was. They said he went to return the GPS locator that he had JUST purchased in WM.
So, we split up once again, rashii and I covering one exit while bananaman and cmwak1 covered the other. That way, each group had a guy that knew what he looked like.
So, I was standing by the entrance, when an old man came in. Of course, the WM door greater said "Welcome to Wal-Mart!" and as he walked past me, being in the excited mood that I was in, said "Welcome to Wal-Mart, sir!!!" He stopped in his tracks and turned around. Oh...GOD this stoy's great! He looked at me bluntly and said "Is that some kind of joke?"
"Uhm, kind of."
"Do you think that's funny?"
"Yeah, I guess." He then walked up to me.
"Well do you work here?"
"No."
"Are you making fun of this nice lady?"
"No...actually...I work at Wal-Mart in my home town (LIE), I -DO- her job there (LIE)."
"Yeah, well, where's your uniform?"
"....I'm...not wearing it....because....I don't...work here....Sorry if I offended you sir, I didn't mean to"
"Yeah, well ya did. You SHOULD be sorry."
".......I am. (LIE)"
"Right....have a nice day."
"...........you too..........(LIE)"
Heheh...so, rashii found hebel2k and we talked for a half hour or more about the axons and Halo 2. Turns out he was one of the people at the axon on the 24th. But then, they didn't know what to do. He was also at the other Indianapolis axon when it went hot. I wish I was! We then took a group picture and parted.
For the rest of today, we keep calling the payphones from our cells. The first time we re-called the Wal-Mart phone we were at, just after we left, a man answered:
"Hello?"
"hello?"
(repeat about 6 times)
(man on payphone) "........how do you feel about bees?"
"I -LOVE- Bees......who is this?"
"...Who is THIS?!"
"Is this the same guy?"
"....Sno? Yeah, it is. I was just on my way out when the phone rang."

We all got a lot of big laughs out of today. Frankly, I hope that if/when more axons show up, Bungie will remember Indianapolis cares too! I had a GREAT time! And now, time for the pictures...and we have PLENTY!!!!!!
It'll take a couple of posts, I guess. And, evidently...They post backwards...so start with the first post, last picture, and go up. Then to the second post, last pic, and go up.

-Sno
PS: Another shout-out to hebel2k and, who cmwak1, rashii, bananaman and I have dubbed as lillun!

Well, I followed you link, and I remember that high pitch sound all to well. WAR OR THE WORLDS.... ah. That movie scared me so much as a kid. I didn't notice that you had a link in your text at first. As you can see, I am still new to this site. But yup, the person that answered that phone was me.
