[SOLVED][PUZZLE] Free the SP!

For those who don't know it yet, SP is back in the glass casket (we assume). At any rate melissa has captured or killed her. Go to the www.ilovebees.com/404.html for Melissa's views on the subject. Alternately, many of the people who wrote ladybee777 recently received the following e-mail from someone:

PF? SP? Melissa (doubtful)? wrote:

!seek Princess

grope:

!init search Princess

!access log extern proc 0

Uh-oh. How did—Tell her to go away!

Tell her not to look! Make her not see me, you dumb bug! Please, I'm begging you, I'm begging you, I'm beg—

I believe that shockingly excessive force is the best deterrent.

Keep looking for me! Tell them, they can talk to me whenever she falls apart! Tell them to call my name! Tell them it's the only…NO!

not back there not back there I'm never going back I'm nev

Sometimes a mistake is the last thing you make.

!seek Princess

Sorry Mario, Sleeping Princess is in another casket!

SOLVE SPEC thus far...

They've been SPEC'ing about it in the interaction thread...an attempted summary:

    [SPEC] thus far:
  • We can possibly free SP again if we yell her name to Melissa when she "breaks apart?"
  • Looking over the flea's comments, and how he is saying !seek Princess, fail, recurse on recipe3.html, maybe he is now a sad little bug who misses his new friend? Maybe PF isn't so bad after all?
  • Maybe SP got a last e-mail off as a final act before captivity?
  • Maybe PF has taken over ladybee777SPLAThotmail.com and is asking for our help to rescue her?
  • Perhaps this is a reference to Perditia's story, where Melissa = Perditia and we need to get her to look at her own reflection?
  • Sleeping Beauty was originally titled Sleeping Princess. Perhaps this is telling as to what her name really is? (credit to Wainamoinen and/or DM for this one)
  • Maybe Melissa "breaks apart" when she freaks out in the recording of a axon phonecall and starts saying, "I love bees," with differing inflections?
  • Maybe this is a clue to a hidden webpage with the casket on it?
  • If PF now has control of ladybee777, maybe we can send him messages in his !language, or teach him English (see interaction thread for most of these attempts)?
  • Maybe we need to communicate SP's name to Melissa via the phone touchpad, by transcribing her name into numbers and either calling the resulting phonenumber (using dana's area code) or by typing it in when Melissa "breaks apart." --thanks vidstudent!
  • SP told us that she doesn't know her own name, so maybe it's just Sleeping Princess? --thanks Shad0!

Hopefully that sums it up correctly. Lemme know if I should add anything to the list here. Let's solve this!

EDIT: Added more specs

All come up 404. What would be infuriating would be if it was something like "princessjasmin" but I don't have the patience to try out all the possibilities. As names by themselves, nothing comes up. Bad luck, Jerms.

This just in:

There is a possibility that 'calling her (the princess') name' means that you should literally call 'sleeping princess' into the phone. It comes out as 75337464 77462377. This would probably be entered when/if melissa 'falls apart' during a live call.

In other news, the possibility of the flea now being in control of the ladybee777 address and the PF's supposed change in heart (see above) has caused several of us to formulate e-mails in the flea's command language (which I personally call 'itch') - no replies have been received thus far.

Back to you, SuperJerms.

Remember that the Sleeping Princess has told us that she knows she had another name, but she doesn't know what it was. From the August 27th 404 error page:

The Sleeping Princess wrote:
And I want to get out of this dark castle, and find them, and ask them all about myself, and find out even my own NAME, for heaven's sake, 'cuz a girl can't go around calling herself the Sleeping Princess forever, can she?

From the September 3rd 404 error page:

Quote:
I had another name once, but I lost it.

If the Princess doesn't know any name for herself other than "Princess," then I don't think she's expecting us to call any name other than "Princess."

Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Good point, Shad0. Until we can say with any certainty that there is a link between SP and the fairytales, we should probably stick to calling her 'princess'.

[SPEC]....

"I had another name once, but I lost it", she said...

Doesn't "Perdita" mean "Lost"?

Could she have conjured up some dim memory of her name, but used it as a character in a story instead of realizing it was hers?

SPEC by Ranger D that wasn't on your list (at least not explicitly):

Ranger D wrote:

One thing that's been bothering me about the axon calls, is the need for the "Continue" voice comand. It's the same everytime. You say continue, you get that cacaphony of ilovebees madness, then it stops. But the line does not go dead right away. I had a failed live call with Melissa and as soon as she was done with me, the line went dead instantly. With the recorded axons, you get a good 8-9 sec of silence after the final "ilovebees" before you hear a 'click' and the line goes dead. Could this be what the princess means, "when she falls apart" ? I wonder what would happen if we said her name during that silence after the saying continue. Won't know until we try it on Tues, I guess; unless someone is going for the new recipe3 axons. It's worth a try.

And as I've said here I think this is a valid SPEC, and something that anyone can test out, even those not receiving live calls.

Yep, it does - which I'm pretty sure has been discussed before (can't find any links, though, sorry)

Using Perdita as the name of the character could just be a literary metaphor - the character names in the Harry Potter books are just one example - and not have any actual meaning with regards to SP. In any case, how will this help us find and free her?

-----Meanwhile:

From what I can see, there appears to be three routes to finding the princess (which could possibly be placed with the list of spec?):

1.) HTML. The SP seems to delight in hiding messages in html files - perhaps she has the means for her escape, or further details of her capture, left here as a contingency? She's sure as heck not going to be writing anything from the coffin.

2.) Phone contact. The Princess tells us that "they can talk to me whenever [the queen] falls apart! Tell them to call my name!" We assume that this involves a live phonecall with Queen Melissa, and that we would have to distract her somehow before contacting the princess. Possibilities of what "falls apart" means and how to contact her when this happens are many, but most involve the Queen falling into her old pattern of saying "I love bees" over and over.

3.) E-Mail contact. The e-mail which sparked this topic was presumably sent to us by the Pious Flea, detailing him accessing the log of the princess' final words. Why and how the flea sent this to us is as yet unknown, but since the PF is the only in-game character who can help us in any means to find the princess, it seems obvious that we should try to contact it. The obvious choice for e-mail is ladybee777SPLAThotmail.com, because it is where we got the message, and the obvious choice for language would be the flea's code - it does not appear to be able to communicate very well (if all) using english, and so code (or a combination of code and english) seems the best idea.

Many people have already tried sending code or combination code/english e-mails to ladybee777, but whether their command structure and syntax is legible to the flea (if it can access the message at all) is yet to be discovered: However, justification for e-mail seems to be found in the original e-mail itself: "!dsc unk transmit proc". The flea appears to have discovered the e-mail system, and its ability to transmit data. Hence, it should be able to receive messages as well.

Ok, I'm done; It's 1am here, and I have to get up in the morning. Good luck, guys. Very Happy

(edit: cursed bbcodes)

[SPEC] SP's phone number?

As posted in the other topic....

1-415-927-6463

415 comes from Dana's area code, while the rest spells, "YASMINE".

It rings, but no one's picking up this morning.

"JASMINE" could be an equally good choice... we still don't know how it's spelt.

Nope, 1-415-527-6463 (1-415-JASMINE) is not in service.

Still getting only rings on 1-415-927-6463...hoping, hoping....

I think DarkStorm is suggesting that "Perdita" might be a name we could try calling (as in "Tell them to call my name!"). Sounds to me as if it's worth a shot.
