corpse = stiff / cadaver
hand = flipper / meat hook
leave the scene = blow / split
doctor = croaker
loser = square / zero
self arrested = (self?) pinched / nicked
$1000 = a grand
liquor = corn / booze / swill / juice
down-and-out = bum
P.I. license = ticket / free ride
private detective = dick
fakes = ringers
kidnap = snatch

yes many puzzles over the 3 weeks have had 3 clues...

and clamatius, may want to fix the arrested to self arrested too Wink

You're still forgetting phone = blower / horn

"Hand" can also be "mitt" or "paw."

There are about three dozen different ways to say "leave the scene." What about "Take a powder"?
