cant all diabetics eat sugar? Just after they do they have to inject themselves with the right amount of insulin?
I know that is the way my friends is.

Not all sugars are created equal. The chemical composition of refined sugar is more difficult for the body to convert to energy, so stays in the blood stream longer, this makes it necessary for the body to increase its rate of regulation of sugar levels in the blood and diabetics cannot properly produce enough natural insulin to provide that regulation. It is the simple difference in the chemical structure of sugars that also makes the sweetner Splenda have 0 carbohydrates, even though it is a sugar and completely identical to 'normal' sugar with respect to the number of carbon and oxygen atoms it has (Think there is some hydrogen in there too right?). It is merely the 'way' those identical number of elements are arranged that determine the bodies reaction to them.

I third the Ackbar quote. Now, I'm just waiting for Mel's Death Star II to come online... ;_; This will be a day long remembered... But for what?

I don't get the Fark reference, but that is one of my most memorable quotes from ESB.

For all you ackbar fans...

On that note. I also have a friend who is diabetic, he eats pretty much what he wants when he wants too, just has to check his numbers every now and then. Maybe Mel didn't cause Aunt Margrets coma. What if while searching for ways to capture Dana, she mearly came across Margret, did a deeper search, and found out she is in a coma?

Hehe. As I learned from Chris Tucker in the movie Friday, it's not always the best idea to "consume" what you sell, anyways.

I hope that Aunt Margaret isn't really in a coma, and that is why we have never heard from her the whole game...

So with Dana coming home, for next tuesdays axon session do we ask melissa what she has been up to?

She's obviously come to trust us, I think she wouldn't mind if some of her crew questioned what she needs from Dana or Aunt Margeret, if this whole coma thing is a scam.

I think the coma is a relatively new thing, which is what has prompted Dana to come back. The tidbit from the flea indicates that Melissa was getting jiggy with Margaret's insulin intake -- something that she couldn't have done before she was "wide awake and physical".

Besides, It seems unlikely that Dana would take off for HK in the first place if her Aunt was in a coma. How rude would that be?

<Star Wars Geek> actually, the quote was from ROTJ, when they realize that the shield protecting the Death Star is still up. </Star Wars Geek>

I think Aunt Margaret's coma is new, I was assuming that she is in one. That is the reason Dana is coming home.

What I want to know is what happened to bringing Dana in by treating her with kindness?? Or convincing Melissa that Dana is an asset?

Well, we know Dana checks out the site. So it could be the information on contactme.html that is bringing Dana home. Also, it seems to me that Melissa is just searching the network for these words.

She scanned Margaret Efendi's medical records and found she was taking the drug humulin. Possibly Melissa understands if she uses the Reflotron Plus in a malicious way, Margaret will go into a coma. Again, the seeker is telling us that Melissa was scanning these words, so there may be time to get in contact with SP or PF in order to do something about this. And Dana may just be going to prevent it in person. Sorry if this is old news, just wanted to interject my opinion.

You know, given the whole spiel on the 404, I think it may not be as it appears. Mellissa seems more interested in shutting down the sleeping princess then in destroying Dana anymore.

Perhaps Margaret's troubles are the natural kind, and Melissa is offering Dana some kind of medtech bribe in return for assistance in dealing with the SP?

Not necessarily. In the "thoughtful suggestions" from the loyal crew she seems interested in the suggeston that she might be able to use Dana in some way to get rid of SP and then states:
Quote:
On the basis of this input, I have formulated a plan and put it into action. With some ingenuity, I will also shortly be in position to neutralize the rogue process for good.

She says that she has a plan for Dana, but says that she will neutralize the SP. Hopefully she will use Dana rather than attempting to eliminate her. We can continue to try to protect Dana (for those of us who choose that allegience).

If I were a malicious AI from the future, I'd be messing with the baseline of the Reflotron (apparently it can, but isn't always, hooked up to a PC). That way if the glucose readings are falsely high for a period, either the nurse or Margaret will administer more insulin to counteract this, which will certainly increase the likelihood of if not guarantee a diabetic coma.

BUT from this it's unclear if Melissa is looking to dispose of Dana or is still open to negotiation.

If she wants Dana to prove herself through Rogue Process Removal, I wonder if simply helping the Princess to escape to a spare PC is within the plot of the game? Probably not because that just removes the Princess's ability to affect the plot. Not to mention the AI's are probably bound to each other at some fundamental level.
