Jon's clue in an earlier e-mail was something along the lines of "where u and I meet"

some clever person sussed that it if you clicked Jon's eye it took you to the Hiding Room, where the game really took off

... but the PM's realised that some of us may take the clue a bit too literally and try typing in U and I

hence the "nice try" bit

EDIT: Never mind, I already found out what you did.

alcofribas is right, this was just a hint to try something different from typing the U and I characters on that page. But welcome aboard!

We actually found that javascript popup before we got Jon's clue about U and I.

Doing a search on "less literal" in just the S&S forum gets you this post which first talks about the popup. Scroll down a couple of posts to here for another discussion.

You can probably find a few more posts on it by varying some of the keywords. I know not everyone wants to take the time to read through the 18 page locked thread (even if there is some good info in there), but using the search function hardly takes any time at all.
