PM's as Players Not to stir up trouble, but is it acceptable for a PM to also be a player? Not in their own games, of course, but in other games. Would you say it gives PM's the advantage, and the games goes by too quickly for players, or would you say that there is too much suspicion of the PM playing his own game?

I dont see why not. There is no advantage to a pm being a player, EVEN if they know the identities of who is behind the curtain.

You might want to clarify the question IN the poll question itself. Yes, PMs of one game can be players of another unrelated game.

I think they can be players in their own games as well (if they have the time). It wouldn't be right to be a front runner or anything, but to get an idea for how it looks on the other side of the curtain, or possibly to subtly steer people in the right direction.

Yeah, that would be nice, but unfortunately, many websites don't allow that, and many PM's consider it bad form. Personally, I don't care. It's your game, do what you will.

Uh... I don't really see how you can be a player in your own game, unless you have a relatively minor role BTS where you aren't really privy to any information about the plot or puzzles. As for steering people in the right direction, you'd be sort of asking to be staked to the water's edge at low tide. And I'll bring the stakes!

making puzzles, they're not so great at solving them. And while being a good writer may help you to better appreciate good writing, I don't see how it would necessarily give you any sort of advantage in playing the game.

Wait a second, I thought PM's were playaz by default? You mean that behind this curtain of which you speak, there are no leggy blondes, baths full of champagne and mountains of cocaine? I'm telling you, ARGs won't be considered an equal of film or television until there's enough depravity and wanton behaviour in the industry. It's for the good of the genre, people!
