The milkmaids sing
F sharp, G sharp, C, E flat, G sharp,
F sharp, F, G sharp, C, F, G sharp
f sharp would have to be 0 and g sharp would have to be 7 (I think, do you get any other numbers?) so I think you'll be lucky to get a number out of it, but of course you're welcome to try!!!

nynxer is propably correct- everyone on here probably has cracked one out every now and again- it's much more rewarding than posting insults and oversized avatars on random forums after all.

the second number can be 7, 8, 9, 2, 1- there are probably others too- in the UK all mobile numbers start 07, but i think the number with violet's message was an "08" number.

true, but how do you get from f sharp to g sharp in 2 moves without picking random numbers for the other notes to be? bearing in mind you've got 12 notes to play with in an octave. Feel free to beat me to death if it turns out to be a mobile number

Here's a thought - what if the milkmaid's whistles are tonal adaptations of DTMF tones (the sounds that telephone keypads make, and which tell the 'phone system who you want to call)?

Tried it but there are only four tones to choose from [albeit of variations in frequency]
687Hz/770Hz/852Hz/941Hz/1209Hz/1336Hz/1477Hz
http://www.phy.mtu.edu/~suits/notefreqs.html explains about frequencies in more depth...
However, it could be to do with the Wavelength tho....
..here we go again

Sorry folks!

I don't know where to go with this, but I put together a Grateful Dead spec: The WhipSmart Card has a Nine of Diamonds.
* Jerry Garcia is well known to have had an affinity with the Ten of Diamonds.
* He lost part of a finger on his Picking hand as a child, leaving him with more than Nine but less than Ten
* He recorded music under Ice Nine Publishing
* The Dead got their name from Garcia pulling it out of a dictionary. Ther is a wordSpy card showing a dictionary. The phrase occurs in the Egyption Book of the Dead, another card in the Group 333 is the Master of Secrets, concerning Egypt. It doesn't hurt that The Grateful Dead are one of the very few western musical acts to have actually played at the pyramids of Giza.
* One of the cities releasing PC cards is on Shattuck Ave, Berkeley, California. Some twenty miles from Haight-Ashbury.

I congratulate you, Potus, on some brilliant Qabbalistic - type correspondences there. Somehow, I doubt any of them have anything to do with anything. Which is a pity, really, because if the Whipsmart puzzles were really extensively linked to The Grateful Dead, then I, for one, would be quite amused. But it's a bit like saying that the answer to 'Geek Antiques' involves coming up with a punch card code that could be theoretically fed into an Analytical Engine, or that the answers to some of the cards are map co - ordinates. Ace if it were true, then this really would have some claim to being one of the toughest and most involved ARG's going. But, on the other hand, in the wake of the 'Archer' puzzle, I think we may be left to hypothesise a certain lack of imagination in the puzzle setting, rather than something as way out as this. Hope I'm wrong, of course. But 9 times out of 10, it seems to me that some of our ideas are more interesting than whatever a puzzle actually yields.
But I guess having established one 'Blondie' connection, we couldn't rule out the musical connection entirely!!
And, you know, while we're on it - *Jerry* Garcia - Ben n' Jerry's Ice - cream - Whipsmart
Genius!!

LOL - right
Of course! Ben & Jerry's! I totally forgot!
What about 'mind candy'? A hint to Jerry Garcia's consumption of illicit drugs?
MAYBE WHEN THEY RELEASE THE CARDS - we'll have a clearer mindset.
