[Puzzle] Solve the curse; stop Kerry from killing - from Vic

I wasn't in the poker game or the updates yesterday.

But last night there was a long frustrating poker game with Victor. Shado posted it here

AmberJoy explained it to me like this:

He left us with two instructions:
1. Call Kerry and convince him to stop being a killer.
2. Go through the documents I have and see if we can find another son of a son.

Thoughts? Comments? How to unmake a death?

Curse

From another thread -edited to include all the corrections

Quote:
Spill my blood upon this [sand?]
& a curse will follow you
& your sons
& the sonsw of your sons
With my dying breath
I will take the gift of Eve from them
So they will not know
Good
from
Evil
Until my blood
has been unspilled
and my death unmade
and furthermore *bang* [big gap if there is more text after this, I haven't seen it] I think the killer cuts him off, so to speak.

Quote:
Kerry?

Is this 213-341-1154? Kerry, no outgoing message, nothing? This is how you expect people to get in touch?

This is Corazon Suarez, I'm trying to reach Kerry Tucker.

Goddamn it, Kerry, what male idiot thing are you planning! CALL ME!

Shado's spec

just to have everything together in one thread I copied this:

Quote:
Seems like it might be the other way around. Smith "disappeared" in 1868. Sullivan we know survived until 1875, when Frank Grouard shot him and Billy the Kid got the blame. So I'm guessing that Sullivan had something to do with Smith's death, and that his line is the recipient of Smith's curse. (Perhaps Smith is the skeleton that Cain, Seeley, and Sullivan unearthed in 1870.)

Smith --> O'Kelly --> Brown
Sullivan --> O'Grady --> Tucker

So perhaps Kerry needs to "unspill" Smith blood and "unmake" Smith's death somehow.

For lack of any other ideas, I just called Kerry's voice mail and told him about all this. I wonder what he'll make of it. (More than I have been able to thus far, hopefully...)

Here is a transcription of one of the letters:
Quote:
Dear Sister Agnes,
We were very excited to recieve word of your acceptance of our daughter Anna to your boarding school. My husband William Robert and I trust her to your care, and hope to visit her whenever we can come to St. Louis. It is our sincere hope that these next four years will make her into the woman we know she can be. We are grateful that she will be getting an education appropriate to her age and station as life here in Mexico does not always afford the cultural opportunites a young girl needs.
Sincerely,
Eliza Smith

So, this begs the question: Who else do we know in St. Louis?

Don't forget that Mary Ella and John H.C. Smith lived in Chihuahua, Mexico from 1865 to 1868

One of the cemetery small favors was in St. Louis, at Bellefontaine.
Lots of famous folks buried there.
My list from the quest included in these photos.
This place had lots of civil war (and afterwards) folks. And I found a marker for a family named White.

I want to know the maiden name of Don's wife (could his son, David, be part of the cursed lineage)????

To unspill Smith's blood would probably require a Sullivan to make the ultimate sacrifice to save a Smith. Sigh.

McPherson's family tree shows an ancestor of PS who died in 1875. Sullivan is Patrick Sullivan, correct? And Sullivan died in 1875.

If so, it would stand to reason that Patrick Sullivan is the ancestor of both McPherson and Kerry.

Any of my logic faulty there?

Edited to add link to McPherson's family tree.

So it appears that what I was reading as McPherson on the family tree is actually M. Pierson. Sad

So maybe I was completely off about this.

The family tree from McPherson's update two weeks ago was a page he got from Lothar and how he figured out that Kerry was a descendent of PSullivan. We haven't found a direct link to McPherson yet, have we? Who are Don's parents? His mother might be the link - do we know her maiden name?

On that page I see Comstocks and Pierce and Hilbert and Pierson but according to Don's update, those lineages were all gone (that was as far as Lothar had gotten on his own research). It was Don who figured out Kellie married Ben and then traced down to Kerry.

I'm hoping something in Don's new papers shows us that connection between Don and the Sullivan line (so he would be part of the curse).

I don't think she does, but I think she fits in another way. Anna Smith from Mexico also appears on the 1910 Chicago census, within the highlighted circle, as Anna O'Kelly. Notice that her husband, Sean O'Kelly, and their two children are all American, but she is listed as being from Mexico. Also notice that their two children are named Mary and Seamus. Where else have we seen two siblings named Mary and Seamus?

Yup. Janet Brown's grandmother -- Lucky's mother -- was named Mary even before she married a Brown. And her brother -- Lucky's uncle -- was named Seamus. (Plus there was always that speculation about that "Officer O'Kellie" from 1929 Chicago being Lucky's Uncle Seamus.) I think this is the connection that we were meant to find. Just as Kerry is descended from Patrick Sullivan, Lucy is descended from John C.H. Smith. Hence my theory about Kerry needing to "unspill" Lucy's blood or something.

(Incidentally, since JEB Stuart never actually had possession of the Gun -- having been killed before Secretary Benjamin ever presented it to him -- I don't think it matters any more whether Lucy and the other Browns are distant relations of his. Smith is the connection we need.)
