Just little box here !

People, letīs discuss facts related to hoaxes and clues in little boxes. I will start with the satelite photo of the blackout:

Comments: This bogus image began circulating via email within days of the northeast blackout of August 14, 2003. It doesn't stand up under scrutiny.

For example:

There is no imaging satellite named "GeoStar."
The timestamp shows "23:15 EST," but satellite images are usually marked "UT" (Universal Time) — anyway, the U.S. is currently on Daylight Savings Time.
The "blackout" portion of the image extends too far south and not far enough west.
The "blackout" portion of the image is too dark — on close examination, darker even than the pitch-black shade of the ocean and waterways — as compared to the dark blue of the less-inhabited land areas visible elsewhere in the picture.
Compare the faux image to actual satellite photographs of the event(

http://urbanlegends.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories/s2015.htm), which cover a much smaller area and are considerably less dramatic.
The emailed photo is, in fact, a cropped, doctored version of a well-known composite image created from satellite photos taken between 1994 and 1995 by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program.

PS.: GeoStar, hmmm...

you only have to play around with the brightness/levels in photoshop to see it's a fake.

the image has a blue tinge to it, and it's easy to see that somebody went over it with a black brush tool to make it look like a blackout.

but perhaps the numbers/letters in the image mean something.

That is what I meant. I would like comments on other littlebox topics too.

While this is almost certainly a hoax (http://www.cen.uiuc.edu/~tdelling/blackout.html), I doubt it is part of the game or a clue. Do a Google search using the terms "blackout" and "geostar." The image has been going around the internet for a while, and those numbers were in it long before it was added to Little Boxes.

This is pure speculation, but the file cabinet could refer to the archives on Little-Boxes. There are a great many directories there, and the URL paths under the "archives" folder go down several layers. For instance:

http://www.little-boxes.net/archives/
http://www.little-boxes.net/archives/KnowledgeBase/
http://www.little-boxes.net/archives/KnowledgeBase/attachments/

The Grabbing Internet Files (GIF) may refer to attached images in the knowledge base. Maybe some of the deleted documents have/had attached images? Maybe there are hidden files or folders? Of course, this is all unfounded--just speculation.

Archive #58 is supposed to have an attachment, but doesn't.

Attached is the possible file names and directories of little boxes and the software used to manage the site.

Here is the file that he/she attached. I have no idea what to do with it - don't know anything about Java; for that matter, don't even know if there is something to be done with it, or he/she is saying nothing can be with it. If anybody does, could you plz... do something?

Anyway, what I'm thinking about Archive #58 is:
The other archives that have attachments link you like this: http://www.little-boxes.net/archives/KnowledgeBase/attachments/59-blackout.jpg
Theoretically, #58's attachment should have at the end 58-something.*
Given that Aquapolis' backwards-swimming fish was a flash, I will not risk concluding that the attachment is a jpg etc. But maybe if we guessed "something", and actually opened this attachment, it would have some clue about Aquapolis. I tried some stuff like -backwardsfish.swf, and with no luck... of course, lol

advanced search of lb archives

i tried an advanced search of the research archives on little-boxes filtering for 'creators account' and came up with this:

phillip created 47 & 53

'deleted' created 45

beth created all the rest

also just plugged in numbers to see if there were any hidden files and found 51 (not listed) is the same as 53.

probably nothing but info just the same... Very Happy

Possible Little Boxes Source?

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky,
Little boxes, little boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.

And the people in the houses
All go to the university,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
And there's doctors and there's lawyers
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.

And they all play on the golf-course,
And drink their Martini dry,
And they all have pretty children,
And the children go to school.
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
And they all get put in boxes
And they all come out the same.

And the boys go into business,
And marry, and raise a family,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same

A song written by Malvina Reynolds and recorded by Pete Seeger. People getting put into boxes - seems very possibly related to the Matrix and Beth's general feelings. Could this be what Beth has named her site after?
