This is most definitely not Vigenere. Vigenere does not use numbers. It looks to be base64, so maybe it's double-encoded.

Note how he says he received it in the form of a letter. Double meaning?

Yeah, I did base, then I think it's vigenere

Was there anything else found with the letter, or can we see a scan of it? If someone was trying to corrospond with narrator9, then they would have had to hidden a key so it could be read.

Oopse, sorry I didn't mention this before

Narrator said they he sent the letter for tests, but he doubted that they'd find anything. He also said that the letter was just on plain white paper

I just thought we should go ahead a post so far what we have on the puzzle.

We started with this:

WkZBUlMgUlRSTlogRVNYRVUgSERISUEgSUpQTUMgUkdLS1cgVE5OWEIgTFdU
UlMgQVpWWVEgT05JTkYgTUJSU1kgTURJWk8gUVRWUEMNClZWTk5QIE9KRlZKIEhYWVd
edit: added space to avoid scrolling - Rowan

And then, did a base64 to remove the numbers.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ZFARS RTRNZ ESXEU HDHIA IJPMC RGKKW TNNXB LWTRS AZVYQ ONINF MBRSY MDIZO QTVPC
VVNNP OJFVJ HXYWE

I don't know if anyone's noticed it, so I'll write it down anyways. The letters are in groupings of five until the last set. That may help for the solve.

There should be an E on the end of the last grouping.

Code:

Yes, I mentioned that, I said it's most probably vinegere, but I can't think of a key...

And I should let you guys know, I'll be taking about a 2 week leave of absense, I'm going to do some traveling. I'm leaving thursday for Ottawa, I'll get back monday and I'll probably have some time to catch up before I leave again that thursday for Europe, I'll try to get back on after that (maybe I'll find a few minutes during the trip)

So chances are, I'll be absent for the next few interrogations, good luck

I think I know what this is-- yes! Narrator 9 needs a better spam filter!

(and Ofi needs to learn to post correctly!)

Been SUPER busy lately, but here's a conversation with the Narrator. I'll be back on board soon. Very Happy

Quote:

Narrator9 says:
hello?
Mokey says:
Hello?
Narrator9 says:
did you get the email?
Mokey says:
Let me check!
Narrator9 says:
i sent one last night
Narrator9 says:
i havent had any questions or correspondence, so i have been wondering if the team has fallen apart
Mokey says:
I don't believe it has -- I was only pretty busy here at the end of the semester, so I wasn't able to send in questions. Starting Monday I'm back on track!
Mokey says:
I got the email about Joe Foggerty. I'll get with the group about it asap!
Narrator9 says:
ok
Mokey says:
Thank you for keeping us updated!
Narrator9 says:
no problem
Narrator9 says:
im trying to get things moving quicker around here
Mokey says:
I understand.
Narrator9 says:
it might be possible for us to have one interrogation every evening
Mokey says:
Okay! I'll pass the word along right away.
Narrator9 says:
ok

Thanks to those of you who tried to help.

It's a shame, it really is, I loved this game..
