It seems like there are two versions of the map (if it is a map; maybe we're playing a distributed version of battleship).
One Map appears after entering the code and "fills up" from left to right (maybe somehow reated to the leftmost number). This is the one that the flashing dot appears on when you have the opportunity to move. Though, it seems to need to be filled in enough to show the dot.

The other version of the Map usually appears in the "filled in" form but lacks the flashing dot. And typically it seems to appear in a random fashion. It doesn't always seem like the two maps are always in sync either...

Yea, I have been trying that out a bit, moved back and forth around room 100.
As far as I can tell, you will always be able to make "your" move on the "broken" board after waiting n minutes (n being around 10) and inputing the 227664 code and the keys is the directions you can move in, counting closed doors as unavaible moves (which is probably why you sometimes will see the map without keys).
The "Are you him ?" text seems to appear after some (valid?) inputs.
I also saw the blinking box once, not sure which board it was on though as I was a little too quick to move on.

Update-o-rama from progress.txt (now with handy decoder kit)

i1 concerns a post from InsaneLampshade at sos-dan
i2 concerns a post from oodoov_ecniv at unfiction

I'm willing to bet that the"n" means something hasn't been quite solved yet. Hopefully mr. lostme thinks we're at least on the right track.

Heh, I think the answer to that question is: ??MAYBE??

I'm still not sure what the second two columns are. My random-ass-guess is that the "1's" column is a point value, and the "1.0, 2.0, 3.0" shows which phase of the game (if it is a game) we're in. So it is possible that unfiction is currently "winning" with a score of 1-0, where two points are still outstanding

Well, ok, here's some information I overlooked about i1.gif (I want my user ID on two of those challenges Smile).

Take a look at the sixth line up from the bottom of the sos-dan part of the gif. Notice anything strange? 'vna' isn't a very common letter combination, is it? So, I looked up the original page, and sure enough 'vna' is probably trying to look like the word 'dynamic': the 'y' has been changed for a 'v'.

Interesting huh? So, then I looked at the one from this thread. Check out the post count! The '5' in 175 has been replaced by an 's'.

I couldn't see any other discrepancies, but there may be.

Anyone else notice that at least on the sos-dan image several letters are not complete? Missing vertical lines, phantom pixels and such...

If you're looking at the image Lewis posted a page ago, it's because he didn't glue the pieces together properly, and overlooked blaqueice's post on page 4 (which doesn't have the colours inverted back, but at least has the pixels lined up).

Now I just need to get home from work to have a go at the third image - I've got a few ideas. Going for 3 out of 3!

Yeah I probably should have pointed that out. I accidentally deleted a row of pixels! Sorry for throwing everyone out. Embarassed

And poo, I actually missed that post.

Good work guys! Esp. Domster.

I was just looking at i2.gif, which we apparently haven't solved yet. I noticed each letter is exactly 5px wide. Can't be a coincidence.

I am pretty much stumped on i2.gif...

All I have are these notes:

There are a total of seven frames in the gif. Each frame contains four rows of characters. Each frame also contains 21 characters, except for one. Frame three only contains 20 visible characters, the last row only containing two characters. Except for that one frame, they are uniform in everything but the characters themselves.
And as for the message, other than the suspiciously bad english, the only thing I can think of would be to remove every fifth letter (shown below). I'm not sure what to make of it, some new words come out along with a lot of gibberish.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
EVERONEIDOINITWEL
Y, S, G, L
HENERECRDENUREDON
C, O, S, D
EWTHOUBROKNCOUTS
I, T, E, N
IFOUHOINGOSOMEINT
Y, P, F, H
TFINDIMTHSEMUTLOO
O, H, E, S
PASTKINDEPSMSHEA
K, S, E, A, C
FIVEXYOUHALLINDI
H, P, S, F, T

the message has been extracted by tamerlane here. I didn't see his post, so extracted it myself and got the same results (self Trout) But I don't think we understand what to do with it yet.

Thats what I mean. I know the message, and apparently the PM thought I was on the right track, but I have no idea what to do with this block of text.

Hm, but what does it mean by "smash"? is it "destroy", sort of like what oodoov_ecniv was going for? or could it be "combine" in some way? and "each 5 px" could be every 5th one, or every one that is 5 px
