ooooh hang on

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The 25800 year cycle is the precession cycle of the earth.
There is a 22000 year elliptical cycle in changes in the ellipse the Earth follows. See Milankovitch cycles.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milankovitch_cycle

However there is also a 41000 year Rotational Angle cycle.....

Ow head hurts. Do I pick the one I think it should be from above or is it even more complex than that?

Can we get a hint as to how you solved it?

And the answer is just in numbers of millenia? or should it be specified as years?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ie: did you put the answer as 26 for 26 millenia (note 26 doesnt work as the answer as noted above) or did you put 25800 for the number of years it takes for the Earth to return to the same point in the Great year.

How I solved it... let me see...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Guesswork - I saw that someone had tried *edited*, and guessed it from there. Sorry I can't be of any more use.

If anyone is interested

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

If its 26000 years for the precession
22000 years for the ecliptic cycle
and 41000 years for the tilt.

You would need to wait 2132000 years to return to the same conditions.
phew.
Shocked

Oh and Ben tell us if you used millenia, or years as the answer. Before we go crazy.

The card asks for millennia, so surely that's what the unit is.

Am I the 'someone'?

Ditto to Allattar, I'd also like to know where we get that number from. Can anyone provide a reliable solution?
