Watch my six or cover my six is military slang that referrs to 6 o' clock, the position which is directly behind you.

Ohhh, thanks for that. So this phrase could just be adding to our sixes count.

[Update] Journal Entry August 4

Update

Quote:
August 4, 2006: Do you know what a fractal is? Wikipedia says "it denotes a shape that is recursively constructed or self-similar, that is, a shape that appears similar at all scales of magnification and is therefore often referred to as 'infinitely complex.' " I remember when I first learned of them, it reminded me in some ways of how the classical explanation of how atoms and molecules worked seemed to mimic the way the planets in the solar system worked, just on an infinitely smaller scale. The same patterns that make up the tiniest of things also make up the grandest, one of my old high school science teachers used to say.

One funny thing about fractals is that you can't appreciate the true beauty or intricacy of the design from a single perspective. You really need to be able to "zoom in and out" to understand what you are seeing, the patterns that are right there before your face.

If somehow you can achieve that different perspective, you at last can define the patterns that fit together so perfectly to make the overall image.

Repetitive patterns can be seen yet another way too, if your perspective is right. If you see the patterns three-dimensionally instead of merely two-dimensionally, by adding the additional axis made up of time, those patterns become cycles. Remember when I was explaining how the 307 symbol seemed to form not just one but two concentric rings around the town, when placed over a map of Aglaura? I've since learned that it doesn't stop there. Take a look at this.

The pattern doesn't stop with Aglaura, but stretches way beyond, as the things I've noted fall almost exactly in line with the "spoke pattern" of the 307 symbol, just much farther out. How many iterations of this thing are there? And what are they marking?

Plus, when I was looking at this something else hit me. The pattern as a wave, or a repetition in time. I've gone out at least twice now to explore these same areas of the Pine Barrens, before I even had any tangible or logical reasons for going there. And each type something strange or traumatic has happened that prevented me from actually getting there, at least in a condition to actually explore and see what answers I could find. It's almost as if someone or something is trying to keep me from doing just that.

At the same time though, I keep getting handed more and more reasons why I need to go out there and see what's really waiting to be found. The latest thing, the video from this Keith person, showing that weird cave out there somewhere, has finally given me a definite target to shoot for, as I'm almost positive that's what the second black circle on that one spoke represents, the one I've marked "the Hole?". Keith didn't want to say too much about what he saw down there. I think I need to go and look for myself.

Okay next question, Dale's seeing these waves. Why are they all radiating from the one point? Is it just the center of town, or could there be something else? After all, it is possible that hasn't always been the center of town, what with how towns expand in different directions at different rates depending upon terrain, ease of building and general proximity to other buildings.

Good Idea CK, is there a map of Ong's Hat anywhere? Maybe it lines up in a similar way. I am almost certain that when he said about the fractals and atoms and the solar system he was hinting at something. Perhaps the 307 image or also fits over a bigger map? Or do you think he was just referring to those "spokes" as he called them. I also noticed that he left the left most X blank. It is the only red X he didn't label. I wonder why? Any ideas?

There's also those lines on the 3O7 symbol. And I think the "dots" might be on different levels - that's why he says you can't see the true picture unless you see it in three dimensions. The 3O7 could also be applied to the sky, perhaps. Is their a constellation that matches up with it?

And example would be how the Great Pyramid at Gaza and the other pyramids there line up the exact same as the three stars in Orion's belt.

Hate to break it to you Killa, but in reality Ong's hate is technically just an intersection that legend expanded to be an entire area... There is no real map, because it is just trees, dirt roads, and one building. I can try to find a generalized map tonight when i go into work in one of the NJ pinebarrens books {if it isn't too busy}, but really, there is nothing there.

[Research] Fractal Research

From Dale's Journal the fractal image can be found here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractal_geometry

Keeping with the Mandelbrot set, and this from Dale's journal:

I found this site to have some good videos that apply the zoom in and out affect.

Ok, wel Aglaura is not really there either but that hasn't stopped anyone so far either.
http://www.njpinebarrens.com/content/view/15/40/ - I beleive this is what you are talking about. It is actually a road.
Anyway, to clarify my previous post, I was not only talking about Ong's Hat. I was talking about anything we could possibly apply the 307 symbol too. Like what sandra said about the constellations. That is what I was talking about. Dale mentioned the fractals and everything else he said for a reason. There has to be something else the symbol fits on or perhaps a different way of fitting it on the same map of Aglaura. Is it possible that the map we made of Aglaura with the symbol is in and of itself a fractal? that we need to zoom IT in and out? Maybe that is the answer?

[UPDATE] Dale's Journal August 10th

Update http://www.thewishcomic.com/journal/081006.html

Quote:
August 10, 2006: I've always loved kids, even before I had a child of my own. There was just something about their innocence, their ability to lose themselves in play, and their capacity to escape to a fantasy world not confined by the rules of everyday reality that I've always been fascinated by and attracted to. But none of that prepared me for how I would feel when I finally did have a child of my own (with the help of my ex-wife Diana, obviously). I can't begin to describe the depth of my feelings for Meaghan or how it absolutely tears me to pieces to see her as miserable as she has been lately. It's bothered me so much that I've even tried to get Diana to sit down and talk to me about Meaghan, but she's got little or no interest in doing that. Or in her own daughter, it seems.

Meg was here for the last few days, one of her rare mid-week visits made possible by a summer vacation that's rapidly running out, and after she spent the first night barricaded in her old room by herself I decided I needed to do something, anything, to try and get through to her. And so I asked her if I could sit down with her and tell her everything that's been happening to me, with the comic book, my weird and obsessive behavior, the rumors about me everyone around town is whispering. Everything - no holds barred.

I could tell she wanted to almost immediately, but she had a hard time letting go of the "leave me alone" mask she's been wearing lately. Finally though, after a little incessant prodding and some genuine heartfelt pleading, she relented and we sat down and talked for hours. Well, I should say, I talked for hours; most of her talking was in the form of questions, but even though she didn't really open up and let me into her feelings yet, it's a start. And a big improvement over where we have been.

I think all she really wanted was honesty, and to be "let in" on the big secrets she felt everyone has been keeping from her. I was so honest with her at points about some of the crazy thoughts, dreams, etc. I've been having that I was afraid she would run and lock herself in the bathroom or something. I was literally shaking at times and at one point she got up and hugged me, for just a moment, but it was wonderful. While she was hugging me I looked at the wall behind her, where she had hung a family tree we made together for a school project of hers last year. It inspired me to make this:
http://www.thewishcomic.com/images/diagram1.jpg

I'm sorry it's a little cluttered and obviously not complete. I think it actually may have made more sense before I started adding in all of the extra bits outside of the main diagram I made first, but once I got started, I couldn't seem to stop. It all just came pouring out. I don't have the time or energy tonight to try and explain any of it, and I've got a terrible migraine too. I'm not sure I want to try and explain it anyway, until I figure out what I'm missing in that one box in the top area. I've had about two dozen different things in there and erased them all along the way. None of them have felt right. So consider it a work in progress, I guess. Let me know if it makes any connections in your synapses in the meantime.

One more thing quickly before I go lie down and wish my brain would go ahead and explode already - I did go out into the Pine Barrens, with Keith's crude 307 map in hand, and found the spots where I think he dug up all six of the missing masks. They were in the locations he marked with the red x's on his diagram. I also found the fenced-in area, where I think the video he posted on his site may have been made. It had a Marzent sign on it but I went in anyway. I couldn't find the opening his video showed though and had to give up when it was getting dark. So another trip out there is in order at some point, probably this weekend. I'll let you know what I find.

Update http://www.thewishcomic.com/journal/081306.html

Quote:
August 13, 2006: 10:32 PM My God, I can't believe it. I was just sitting down to answer some email that I've fallen behind on again, when I got a frantic phone call from my ex, Diana, asking me if Meaghan were here with me. Since I had her in the middle of the week she wasn't here this weekend at all and Diana knew that, of course, but for some reason they don't know where she is. She was too panicked for me to understand the whole story but I think she left Meg home alone briefly, expecting Bruce to be home in less than an hour, but she wasn't there when he got home. Almost three or four hours later, or something.

I have no idea where she is, but I've got to believe she's OK, and probably just took off to a friend's house or Sarah's or something because she's so upset with Bruce and Diana. And me too, I guess, if I'm going to be honest with myself about it. Anyway, they are going to call around and try to find her, and I'm going to go drive around Aglaura and see if she's hanging out somewhere.

Damn, she had better be OK. I'll never forgive them for this, if she isn't.

Oh-no, that stinks!

I sent Dale an email this morning telling him what a great father he was for being open and honest with Meghan. Laughing

Just for continuity, Sarah went looking for Meaghan, too

In chat, Sandra suggested letting Sam know about Meaghan. Cross posting to this reply from Sam on AIN.
