I mean, it looks like an 'A' and a 'V' one over the other.

 		Um, cleaned up one of the photos mainly because I am slightly less patent than I should be...

I get 10 cherubim (8 dancing 2 in the tree) and a cart,
I bet it's an apple tree.
Small cart leaning on the tree trunk to the left, and a horse and rider behind it.

Anywho, the marks on the side do look like AV, but they look more like Masonic symbols (compass and ruler). I've seen this picture before...

There's a Tree Of Life reference here...and a reference to the seven virtues...that's a nice box Angba.

 		Hi guys, I haven't dropped out of this one I just haven't seen anything I could really help with.

I've done some googling but the only thing I've come up with for the doc's original photos is this place:

I don't know if I'm even close but the sign seems to be in the same style and the place has cats Smile
I thought it could be a bar or restaurant as the sign has lights on it but as I said the shop was as close as I could get.

As for the path photos; I have no clue where they were taken and I don't know if they are meant to be related to the sign photo or not. If the photos are related then the sign isn't at the shop as there doesn't appear to be enough foliage around it if you believe the shots from google earth.

I tried to find a suitable 16th or 17th century painting that would match the one on the box but I get the feeling that the internet can't be relied upon for finding such things. A book on 16th/17th cntury paintings or antiques is probably going to be required(that's if we actually need to figure out the providence of the box).

Anyway I'll stop my ramblings here for a while and go back to lurking...

 		The tree of life connects to the message on the skull (apple eater/Eve). It also connects to tarot cards. It is a reference in almost all religions, christian, jewish and the occult. I read where it is the connection between heaven, the earth and the underworld. This wiki article links it to freemasons. ( the design on the box???)
