I was looking at the books CT gave us:

Hamlet, with Shakespeare everywhere in CP
Papillon, which means butterfly. There's a butterfly garden as well as a shakespeare garden in CP

Been looking for references to the other books, but haven't found anything truly promising yet (and have to go to work now Sad

)

Also, what's with all the statues of guys from venezuela? I feel like there's something relevant in there somewhere, but I just can't put my fingers on it.

Taken from the Central Park web site section on the Great Lawn:

"Today there are benches everywhere for spectators � of both people and sports. At the northeast corner, under a canopy of London plane trees, are four courts (one of which is reserved for youth basketball only); an 1/8 mile track surrounds the courts."

EDIT: I see now that they are PLANE trees and not PLAIN trees from my previous post.

Just because the cube almost certainly isn't in CP, that doesn't mean we should just give up on the area. There could still be a clue (that doesn't require digging) that might help in the search, especially since so much evidence has been presented for CP.

I don't know, but maybe in the area where we had thought the cube would be, there could be some kind of sign pointing us to our next step.

"And in other news tonight, 57 seperate cases of vandalism as people from around the world were found digging holes all over Central Park today. 56 of them claim they were looking for an artifact cube. The remaining person was hauled away whilst screaming "IT'S THE #$%! GOPHERS! THEY HAVE TO BE STOPPED!!!!". Authorities for the Central Park Department of Public Relations were quoted as say "It's the craziest thing we have ever seen. They were all over the place, running around with shovels and digging up everything in sight." A Cental Park ranger, who wished to remain anonymous said "If they wanted the friggin Cube they should have check the New York Public Library... Sheesh! The clues are RIGHT THERE!!!!!" We'll bring you more on this story as it unfolds.

I don't actually think the Cube is in CP. I think that the last mystery may be. Please don't dig in central park, new yorkers are very protective Smile

I think Central Park is simply a case of us picking somewhere we'd like the cube to be and then forcing clues to fit. Rather than the other way around.

I'm taking the no-digging rules as my cue to move on.
