Most impressive solve?

I'd have to go with xnbomb's solving of the tapestry. That totally amazed me, but there were many others. I felt like a mental midget most around here of the time.

Actually, it might have been chancend who solved it. I can't remember! Whoever it was, you get my vote.

The November 8 posts on paintover (texel's feedback-XOR cypher) impressed me. I believe it was AnthraX101 who figured it out.

This makes me wonder, would it be weird/unnecessary to vote for an ARG MVP?

chancesend, xnbomb and yeahyeah ruled tapestry!

And I think trip was awesome in solving paintover pictures; she even made this handy little guide Smile

Tapestry and MLO password are close finish, but I have to go for tapestry for it was done before the discovery of the betamaze... that was truly a tour de force!

Thanks for the congrats on the tapestry, everyone!

It was really a 3-pronged effort: I ended up figuring out the patterns in the tapestry, and converted it into a crypto puzzle. Then yeahyeah went ahead and solved the bulk of the crypto. Xnbomb batted cleanup by providing some extremely useful analysis into the creation of the puzzle, theory on decoding, etc. Oh, and danman_d pointed out the fact that the puzzle was a modified "betamaze" font.

I personally was very impressed with the Texel XOR solve, the MLO password, and the extreme dedication that some people gave to the Aquapolis incidentlogs (Yanka comes to mind). We had some truely excellent people working here...

And a special honorary award goes to Giskard for solving the last puzzle of the game!

Embarassed

Aww, that's sweet Smile Thanks!

Both the XOR bits and the Betamaze were pretty impressive, in the end, I think the Betamaze solve impressed me the most, both because of the great team-effort and dedication by Chancesend, Xnbomb and Yeahyeah and also because it was probably the most abstract puzzle we encountered (although in the end it was a "simple" substitution cipher, it first had to be discovered to be one).

My vote goes to tapestry solve, mainly as I was watching as Chancesend first glimpsed the solution on the forum, and then as it slowly came out.

Absolutely brilliant!

Didn't get to see many solves as only access is at work during 9-5 GMT but that made all the browsing very worthwhile!

Thanks!
