This actually isn't true.

Some phones will play the same tone for the colums (one of the phones in my house plays the same tone for every button), but there are distinct tones for each number in existence. Using these, the numbers dialed in the recording are 1-3-1.

1 3 1 # is reconfirmed here.

However, assuming this phone number is ingame, it would make no sense for the PMs to permit access to the administrative voice mail features by hinting at the password. That would only lead to someone changing the message and would defeat the purpose.

As for the EPA document, while not ingame itself, it makes a strong connection between "water" flood and the "infectious" flood, as far as this Flood Containment Control organization is concerned.

I've slowed it down, and I'm almost 95% sure that this is what is said:

Female British Voice: "Welcome to the Strema Conferencing Center. Please enter your pin followed by the [cut off, presumably "pound key]

{4 Touch Tones}

Password accepted. Now accessing archive number 16180. Participant One [in second call "Two"]."

Man 1: "isn't necessary, and neither is the doc download."

Man 2: "I agree. This isn't going to be a public resource. Uhh, pass on the document number so I can delete it."

{pause}

Man 1: "There's no way to tell yet. Jim's looking into the records to see how many closed sites there are, but as for active clean-up, somewhere around 3-4,000. Here it is, uh, hold on, 402-K-07-002, and in terms of numbers, most of these are past the PPE Stage."

{pause, sound effect from computer, maybe game}

Man 2: "With a few exceptions: Site 34,-"

Female American Voice: "Thank you for calling."

I think we need to fill in some of the missing parts in this conversation, like what is asked before Guy #1 says "There's no way to tell yet."

Edit: Changed 1680 to 16180. Changed Jane to Jim.

Edit 2: After slowing it down further and upping the pitch, DPE is wrong. I'm almost 100% sure it's PPE.

Interesting that when I called first it cut off much earlier. Maybe as more people call, it will unlock more?

good call on the british/american accents...

I'm thinking maybe the conferencing center is a british company, accessed after the initial american operator. Note that the men are also american. Interesting, no way to determine where anything is this point. the 800 number is american, from which I'm guessing one can be directed to the british conferencing service, but anyone involved in that conference could in theory be anywhere...

Part of me still wants to think it's "external conferencing center" which would make sense, to connect people from remote locations in one audio conference. I know that's not a service thing to find, but whoever the service is run by has no reason not to call it that. *shrug*

Possible meanings of DPE

"Data Processing Electronics" strikes me in particular. Didn't AR say something about mining and processing Data?

Also... DBE

Nothing interesting in there.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPE

Lots of "in terms of numbers" there. Just need to figure out what the flood aspect could mean.

Edit: Personal Protective Equipment seems like the best choice. That would mean that most of the 3-4,000 flood sites are either too toxic or too clean to wear PPE.

PPE makes a lot of sense, and is also heavily mentioned in the 402-K-07-002 document.

Database Extraction?

DB=database is the first thing that stands out to me. It sounds like they're trying to cover their tracks about something

This feels simular to the chat log about Johnson's med records in the HGN. Almost like we're getting a back view into something we should be careful looking at.

MY TAKE --
I believe this to be correct!

Female British Voice: "Welcome to the Sterma Conferencing Center. Please enter your pin, followed by...

{3 Touch Tones}

Password accepted. Now accessing archive number 16180. Participant 1, 6,

Man 1: "--necessary, neither is the doc download."

Man 2: "I agree. This isn't going to be a public feed source. Uhh, pass on the doc so I can delete it."

{pause}

Man 1: "ther-There's no way to tell yet. I didn't see any of the records to find out how many closed sites there are, but as for ac--(acuracy?), somewhere around four thousand. Oh, here it is, uh, hold on, 402-K-07-002, and in terms of numbers, most of these are past public usage."

{pause}

Man 2: "With a few exceptions, uh, site thirty-four"

Female American Voice: "Thank you for calling. Goodbye"

I'm fairly certain of all of this.
I'm really good at finding lyrics to hard to hear things...

edit:
nevermind this is for the first recording..
someone please post the 2nd one...

The password that's being entered is for the confrencing software, so it doesn't really matter what's being entered.

As to the recording, I think it is changing.
