[SPEC] TRAILER/PICS ANALYSIS
(It *sorely* needs to be done, please leave it open!)

If you're still new, check the Reference thread for important links and threads of the stuff that has been covered all in that original thread. You will be better served if you take the time to check out the links u4ik has provided.

PERSPECTIVE:

IMONSHO, I seriously feel we've long since slid into analysis paralysis mode. What we have mostly confirmed at this point is that Albert Pike and the Lost boys (JJ ABrams and co, whoever co is) have

1. put fun stuff on the web for us to find and
2. the only thing we've even FOUND has been the 1-18-08 site.

Just for the record, that ACIN article with the email was posted the same day, and after the Slusho find, which is related, if not assumed to be in game, so technically Abrams wasn't aware anybody found slusho...so we've found AT LEAST two so far.

Continuing with my ONSHO, I think that the content on both these sites does not contain any hidden links outside the flash program, and a few people have checked that and come up empty.

In the spirit of the slusho clue, it's unlikely that clues would be 'embedded' into the trailer that we'd have to decipher - like a number of slashes on a fence or something. So far what we've ended up with has been hidden in plain sight (as I have suggested for awhile now), a logo on a tshirt worn by a character. The stuff that is openly presented in a realistic fashion, but incidental, subtle.

I'm not saying there's not any decrypting that needs to happen, but at this point it seems to me that it's less likely to have been photoshopped into the 1-18 pictures and more likely to be presented on the slusho site, either the graphics, the content of the History, or the links.

If we can kinda keep perspective here we can probably open a door here that will be another V8 moment same as the slusho tshirt we all saw and glazed over ;-p

Trailer Transcript

To whoever it was that put up the very helpful transcript of what was presented in the trailer, if you still have a copy of it or can find it, would you please post it in this thread for safekeeping and helpful reference (or in the reference thread, one).

Thanks

Pulsing Picture

I saw this in the latest page on the unwieldy thread, someone mentioned they were seeing the pictures on 1-18 pulsing.

Here is what has been noticed up to now...

1. Prior to the updates on 1-18 (read: BTS changes), you could right click black space, get the flash menu, select copy and get another pair of the same pictures, in some layout position or another.

2. If you move the photos around then let up, one, or both, of the photos would begin to slowly tick - rotate - in either direction.

3. Each time you reloaded the page, a new layout position of the same pair of pictures would appear.

4. The rotation was not in synch with "per second" but seemed longer per tick. Very subtle but still visible.

July 10, the 1-18 site seems to have been a BTS (behind the scenes) change and the right click flash menu is no longer accessible, thus no more copies.

What I and a few others have seen has been that since the 'update' the photos seem to be ticking a little faster - closer to "per second."

Someone else mentioned spotting a shadowed edge on either photo when it was in the top position - I don't know personally, never noticed.

HOWEVER, earlier on the other thread someone mentioned that they checked the page after awhile and one of the photos was pulsing...and basically got shot down - with the suggestion it was just a flash program glitch. I don't think so....because I've had 1-18 up awhile, distracted on here and periodically I'll reload it just checking for any new pictures.

And just now when I maximized the page, the position of the pictures (from when I moved them earlier, and also saw the speed increase of the ticking rotation) had changed...the Rob/drink pic was on bottom and VERY CLEARLY pulsing...almost flickering, pulsating.

That aint a glitch, sorry.

The ticking and rotating speed has visibly increased, and there is visible pulsing going on with the pictures. To whoever you were that saw this, no, you're not hallucinating....it's clearly pulsing, flickering....and for the official record, the first impression I got was that it was as if the picture was trying to get my attention in its own nonverbal manner....like *pssst, look at me again!* It just hit me like there's more to the picture/s and maybe we're circling it but haven't nailed it. Like it's shaking trying to get us to look at it, get our attention (but then it's 2:45am and well, eh)

I think you will see this happen for more people now - and they're not hallucinating and it's definitely not a glitch or a 'movement trail' - it's defined pulsing...and the rotation speed has definitely increased.

You flash people need to come back and have a closer look....

and nightowl, or any of you with a way to video cap, I don't know how well that might translate in a video clip but if you can catch it in the act, please try so others can see it for themselves....

I reeeally don't think this is arbitrary....much less a glitch.

(it's 2:35am and I just reloaded the page. It is min. while I type this. I pulled it up just now and screencap'd the array position that came up on reload....I'll check it in a bit and edit in the update)

at 2:46 I pulled it up again and could see it had been rotated...so I waited for the clock to hit 2:47 and timed the clicks for one minute. 12x...I slid the Rob pic down to the lower right and dragged the chick pick closer and on top, and timed it again - the Rob pic, and the count this time was 15 ticks....the chick pic has been static so far.

I've tried destegging a number of images, but not the two on the 1-18-08 site. Those two are actually .swf format. We're unable to get ahold of actual .jpg (or any other image format) files.

I'm also working a bit with the Slusho! website images. Perhaps "Slusho Zoom!" means there's more than meets the eye with the images. No idea. I'm just following the ARG handbook right now.

Maybe something can be destegged by using the password "2004ace", or "2007ace". It's just a shot in the dark, but it'd different from the ideas people have had in the never-ending forum. I've also tried using "ABZ-3293" from the license plate in the trailer.

Could we be getting passwords? That may be one of those things that's "right in front of us".

Feel free to steal the basic summary of the trailer I just posted on the Wordpress site.

Here's a revision of what I posted about the "Party Pic" back when I first got here lo these couple of days ago.

I've been poring over the photos on the 1-18-08.com site and I'm kind of stuck on what may or may not be numbers in the Party Picture. I realize that they may not be anything at all - shapes that my mystery-addled brain has formed into something I'd recognize - but the may end up being something.

So here's what I see. Feel free to ignore or use at your leisure. Smile

Moving left to right across the picture.

1) A yellow number "2" about a quarter of the way down the left of the letter "E" in the banner.
2) A glowing figure that could be the number "9" directly below the face of the odd-looking woman on the right.

Overall impressions of the photograph.

1) The man does not seem to be enjoying his drink nor does anyone save the woman on the right seem to be celebrating in any way. Notice that his left hand seems to be clutching someone else's hand (perhaps that of the man next to him?). The woman right next to him seems to be holding up his right arm and that fist is clenched.
2) Turn the photo upside-down and look at the odd-looking woman behind the drinking man. Doesn't she suddenly look very sinister? It could mean nothing at all, but she definitely gives me the creeps from that vantage point. I believe, though I have no definitive proof, that she is Girl 1 from the trailer, the one mostly in the foreground when everyone's out on the street. There are a couple things that don't sit right with her image in the photograph, but I can't say that they're not things that sometimes happen in pictures.

I deleted a bunch of stuff about other numbers. Upon looking at other screencaps of the trailer, I think that most of what we were seeing as numbers were simply artifacts of light and blurring from camera movement when the picture was taken. That includes the numbers 1,4,8,3, and the guy who looks like Jesus.

Did you really have to flip the picture over for that... woman... person... thing to freak you out? I mean, it barely looks human.

Overall, the pic is very creepy. It looks like fun times for split second, but then after you look at it for a bit, plus the Slusho stuff, it looks like something horrible might be happening.

The "we will miss you rob" sign is made out of photos. this is very similar to something that was ingame for the Lost project.

with jj abrams there are no coincidences

http://whereisalvar.com/

the first site found ( http://www.1-18-08.com/ ) is a collection of photos, and on that site we are looking at a photo of rob standing in front of photos of his friends, this has to mean something.

Whats that box in the background? is it some kind of Japanese cereal? anyone seen it before?

The wine rack above it, there was a site for cloverfield wine but it's been around way to long to be a part of this. Then again...

This is probably obvious, but: the guy feeding him the drink is the slusho guy, right? Maybe he's giving him slusho.
