My half-baked theory:
I'm with the folks who think the mini-monsters are humans in hazmat suits. The red dots are soldiers hunting humans who've been exposed to bratty monster grumpypants. So the fleeing humans are running from two enemies; Mr. Monsterific and the soldiers.
Those blue suits are used for hazardous materials. We have some of those bulky suits here because we deal with some nasty chemicals and materials. They're pretty funny looking.
And incidentally, thanks JFTeran for providing that preview I so direly needed for my basic survival. :::::at last....:::::
Thank you.

Wierd monsters on the loose... government involvement... soldiers who you think might rescue you are trying to "contain" (i.e. kill) you... things jumping at you from the dark... mini-monsters and zombie infections...
Why am I getting a wierd Half-life feeling from all this =)

Exploding Woman (Marlena?) flanked by Hazmat suited men I did a small write-up, with a slower animation of the scene that seems to depict a woman who closely matches Marlena's silhouette expanding to the point of bursting while being restrained by men in Hazmat suits.
Click this link to view the post, rather than me reposting it.
I can repost it if you want, but maybe we need to make an official Trailer #2 Analysis thread for this kind of thing.

I think it can be put to rest that those are hazmat suits (in the clear stills from the interview) and not "blue suits" used for CGI work. Notice they are wearing black or brown gloves. If the suits were intended to be replaced, they would need to be totally one color.

(SPEC) Exploding Woman Heh...another long time lurker first time poster. Guess we are coming out of the wood work now.
I am firmly in the camp of the "impalement" scene is a woman being "escorted" by (hu)men in hazmat suits AND that she expands and deflates rapidly. I cannot find the post atm but there is a screen cap on here during that scene we clearly see a shadow of a hazmat guy holding what looks like a giant cork screw (I also think this may be the 3rd persons face we see in the production still) and approaching the woman. Originally why we called this impalement/decapitation is because it looks like some one or thing punches/stabs her.
As for my speculation, is it possible that ingesting the "seabed nectar" basically means you have dormant "parasites" in your body and having come in to proximity to grumpy pants causes the dormant/frozen parasites to become active, basically making you a host for a legion of little (near microscopic) baddies?

Regarding the military trying to kill everyone in the area/that is infected:
If they were trying to keep infection low, something ala 28 Weeks Later would have occured where its basically shoot everything in sight. In the trailer, there are multiple instances where the military is talking to the main characters. Also, there are medical bays, presumably set up by the gov't. Though, it could be that they don't know about the virus till midway through the movie, and the talking occurs before hand.

Finally got a hold of the quicktime version and I'm going through frame by frame...the quality is not helping things though.
One possible lead..
There's clearly some sort of lettering on that guys jacket. This appears to be some form of emergency medical scene...I can make out what appears to be an F, but it doesn't look like it's FEMA...[/img]

Hrmmm, could the be private commandos in a force created to contain the expirement? I dunno, just a thought. I mean, we do really have things like Blackwater, so its not that out of the question.
