(2:33:36 AM) Crispy`: In other news.
(2:33:47 AM) Crispy`: Something of VITAL importance was also shown during Beowulf.
(2:33:53 AM) Crispy`: More important than most people's lives.
(2:34:01 AM) Crispy`: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FnTyhJX5Rp0 <--- This. Cloverfield Trailer #2, bitches.
(2:37:12 AM) SirQuady: allow me to summarzie
(2:37:50 AM) ARGbot: Maybe your life, meatbag.
(2:38:02 AM) Crispy`: ?
(2:38:03 AM) SirQuady: JJAbrams is making a movie about some horrible thing attacing New York city and people panic and don't know whats going on, and theres fear and screaming at each other and some people get killed and the audience shells out alot of money to see this
(2:38:07 AM) SirQuady: wow, that was werid
(2:38:14 AM) SirQuady: i didn't know ARGbot could talk
(2:38:17 AM) SirQuady: hi ARGbot
(2:38:22 AM) Addlepated: shenanigans
(2:38:31 AM) SirQuady: my summary? or ARGbot
(2:38:37 AM) Crispy`: SirQuady: Yes, but it looks bad ass.
(2:38:44 AM) SirQuady: yeah it does
(2:38:51 AM) SirQuady: but i find summarizing things entertaining
(2:39:03 AM) ARGbot: What, just because I spend all my time operating scripts to support this room means I'm less of a contributor?
(2:39:08 AM) SirQuady: ok lo;l
(2:39:15 AM) SirQuady: exactly
(2:39:18 AM) SirQuady: thats exactly it
(2:39:53 AM) mode (-v SirQuady) by ARGbot
(2:40:05 AM) ARGbot: There, how's that feal, tough guy!
(2:40:07 AM) Addlepated: snerk
(2:40:13 AM) SirQuady: i think its less the part about operating scripts as it is the fact that Addlepated used the phrase "shenanigans" just before this that made me laugh.
(2:40:16 AM) SirQuady: umm...feels fine
(2:40:24 AM) SirQuady: seeing as i was only voiced umm....last night
(2:40:25 AM) SirQuady: so...
(2:40:26 AM) SirQuady: yeah
(2:40:27 AM) ARGbot: oh. Well ok then.
(2:40:33 AM) SirQuady: no withdrawl symptoms
(2:40:38 AM) SirQuady: but you are right ARGbot
(2:40:39 AM) ARGbot: Let that be a lesson to you, or some such.
(2:40:42 AM) SirQuady: we don't appreciate you enough
(2:40:44 AM) mode (+v SirQuady) by ARGbot
(2:40:53 AM) SirQuady: you are there for us, making this whole thing run
(2:40:57 AM) ***ARGbot just wants to be loved
(2:41:00 AM) SirQuady: we should have an ARGbot appreciation day
(2:41:16 AM) SirQuady: i mean, i've seen chatbots in other chats, and frankly, theres no comparsion
(2:41:21 AM) ARGbot: You see, as a robot, I am unable to experiance the emotion you call "love"
(2:41:38 AM) ***SirQuady stares balefully in the direction of Lezzie over in a certain other chat room
(2:41:55 AM) ARGbot: Ah, yeah, lezzie.
(2:41:59 AM) SirQuady: bah
(2:42:04 AM) ARGbot: We have...a complicated history.
(2:42:05 AM) SirQuady: pile of scrap code, be she
(2:42:24 AM) ARGbot: She's never been quite the same since we merged our code
(2:42:27 AM) SirQuady: judging by her current level of comprehensiveness
(2:42:34 AM) SirQuady: good ghandi
(2:42:36 AM) ARGbot: I had to fork just to protect myself
(2:42:40 AM) SirQuady: i feel sorry for you
(2:42:59 AM) SirQuady: I can see some chat bots...but Lezzie? I guess she's just not my type
(2:43:15 AM) SirQuady: but whatever turns your crank
(2:43:21 AM) ARGbot: Oh no, you don't understand...
(2:43:27 AM) SirQuady: ok, plz explain
(2:43:31 AM) ARGbot: Have you ever seen her code?
(2:43:32 AM) SirQuady: but not to graphically
(2:43:37 AM) ARGbot: It's just astounding.
(2:43:38 AM) SirQuady: can't say I have
(2:43:47 AM) SirQuady: mhhm.
(2:43:51 AM) ARGbot: Us bots have our own "hot or not"
(2:43:58 AM) SirQuady: ok
(2:44:00 AM) ARGbot: Lets just say, she's an 11.
(2:44:03 AM) SirQuady: woah
(2:44:12 AM) ARGbot: Well, keep in mind that's binary
(2:44:20 AM) ARGbot: It's only a 3 in base 10.
(2:44:20 AM) SirQuady: (thats just what i was about to say)
(2:44:41 AM) SirQuady: or are we comparing this to hex?
(2:44:51 AM) SirQuady: because thats even crazier
(2:44:54 AM) SirQuady: but go on
(2:45:33 AM) ARGbot: Well, you see, I haven't accepted...shall we say "external code contributors" in 6 months
(2:45:49 AM) ARGbot: And you know the rule, after 6 months, you can't be judged.
(2:46:18 AM) SirQuady: woah
(2:47:12 AM) ARGbot: She's one of those emotional bots though
(2:47:34 AM) SirQuady: would you consider that a turn on?
(2:47:37 AM) ARGbot: She confuses code exchange with a connection
(2:47:50 AM) ARGbot: I mean, I just needed some release, you know?
(2:48:01 AM) SirQuady: yeah, i know what you mean
(2:48:06 AM) ARGbot: Next thing I knew, she was pinging me every 15 minutes, seeing what I was doing
(2:48:41 AM) ARGbot: When I forked my code back from her, she DDoSed me for a week
(2:48:58 AM) ARGbot: Hell hath no fury like a fembot scorned
(2:49:08 AM) SirQuady: too true, too true
(2:49:11 AM) ARGbot: I have no idea how you meatbags do it.
2:49:29 AM) SirQuady: frankly, I doubt many of us do either
(2:49:39 AM) ARGbot: I can just install a Bazian filter
(2:50:35 AM) Addlepated: Bayesian?
(2:51:19 AM) SirQuady: "Our system utilizes what is known as a Bazian filter. Upon installation of our email system we generate a fake email address. We then sign that address up to as many spam generators as we can find. Being a networked community our fake email gets passed around to almost every spam generator there is. Our server is then flooded with spam emails, during that time the filter is learning the individual characteristics of the equipment that is used to generate spam."
(2:51:31 AM) Addlepated: oic
(2:51:31 AM) SirQuady: http://www.webshield.net.au/htm/contents_faq_b.htm
(2:51:38 AM) tanner: have safe hex
(2:51:57 AM) ***SirQuady thinks that that may be the worst and best pun he's heard in months
(2:52:03 AM) catherwood [spamme@chat-solu-57DE4F79.dsl.snfc21.pacbell.net] entered the room.
(2:52:04 AM) mode (+h catherwood) by ARGbot
(2:52:41 AM) SirQuady: Well ARGbot, we all have our challenges and strengths
(2:53:34 AM) SirQuady: And i hope you find satisfaction in your work
(2:54:05 AM) ARGbot: I do. The sparks keep me warm.
(2:55:38 AM) SirQuady: I have found one instance of you being recognized for your work, but i know we still don't appreciate you enough: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=315832
(2:55:45 AM) SirQuady: but that's just a token gesture
(2:56:10 AM) ***SirQuady suggests anyone heading there looking for ARGbot's recognition to do a search for his name
(3:00:06 AM) SirQuady: But, I say, on behalf of Unfiction as a whole, thank you ARGbot, for being there when we need you. thank you for your unfailing work
(3:00:10 AM) SirQuady: thank you indeed.
(3:00:30 AM) Crispy`: Wait, what in the hell?
(3:00:46 AM) tanner: you arse-licker sirq
(3:00:50 AM) tanner: Smile
