good idea, but i think we need to branch out and search outside of uF to find more people cause if they posted here and were fluent in english and japanese they probably would've contributed already. (at least i would hope so )
any ideas of other websites to look for translators at?

Go to yahoo chat. Find a japanese chat room, and send the link out. Have the person respond to the forums.

Yahoo's Japanese chat servers are different, and you have to have a Yahoo Japan name to get on them last I checked. Creating an ID for Yahoo Japan generally means you have to be able to...
Speak Japanese.
Oh the irony...

Maybe you can put it on Yahoo questions... I saw it for the recipe on 1-18-08 the other day... and someone translated...

Good idea. Two things could happen:
(1)Julia was able to type out alot of the Japanese. I can translate it from there... or (2), Yahoo Q&A may not be a bad idea. Good thinking. I'll give it a shot.
EDIT: Okay. It's on Yahoo! Answers. As soon as I get the emails, I'll let you guys know.

it would be best if you could post your translation of the japanese text in stead of just saying you can because we are all desperate to find out what the torn letter is all about

thanks for the excellent translation. it makes more sense now.
don't see no clues within the memo apart from the knowledge that some confidential letters have gone astray within the company
The writing on the back seems to be of more help. Not sure where to go with it though
